Canora Courier, October 03, 2001 GENOWAY:
Funeral service for Michael Edward Genoway, 74, of Calgary and formerly
of Canora, who died September 10, was held September 14 from McInnis and
Holloway's Crowfoot Chapel in Calgary with Rev. Bernie Black officiating. Born
in Canora, he moved to Lenswood, Man., in 1940 where he attended school. He
moved to Calgary in 1953 and was employed by Otis Elevator for 18 years before
he began working for the Government of Canada, retiring in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Kay; two sons, David of Calgary and Noel of Vancouver; one daughter, Maura (Damian) of Ravine, Wis.; one brother, Paul (Olga) of Benito; three sisters, Olga (John) Honoway of Swan River, Elsie (Charlie) Chapin of Minitonas, Man., and Gloria (George) Ripley of Surrey, B.C., and one grandson. Courier, October 03, 2001 SEVERSON:
Funeral service for Robert "Bob" Alfred Severson, 45, of Norquay,
who died September 24 at his residence, was held September 27 at the Norquay
Communiplex with Rev. Frances Patterson officiating. Following cremation,
burial took place at the Norquay Lutheran Cemetery with Leson's Funeral Home
in care of arrangements. Born on February 17, 1956, in Norquay to Clifford and Belva (Barr) Severson, he received his education in Norquay. On October 29, 1977, he married Joanne Wood and they farmed north of Norquay. In 1987, they moved to their new homestead in the Norquay area. He volunteered for many community causes including being a firefighter, a member of the Kinsmen Club and an avid supporter of the Telemiracle Foundation. He was a hockey enthusiast and an avid curler. Predeceased by his mother Belva, in 1997, he is survived by his wife, Joanne; his father, Clifford of Norquay; two sons, Greg and Devin of Norquay, two daughters, Melissa and Kaley of Norquay, three brothers, Doug (Cook) of Norquay, Ken of Norquay and Terry (Shelley) of Balmertown, Ont., and a sister, Sharon of Regina. |
