Canora Courier, December 12, 2001 MALISH:
Funeral service for Maria Malish, 96, of Wadena and formerly of the
Lintlaw district, who died in Wadena Hospital November 26, was held November
30 from St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wadena with Pastor Glenn Shore
officiating. Burial was in the Wadena Cemetery with Narfason's Funeral Chapel
and Crematorium in care of arrangements. Born
December 19, 1904 in Rossenfeld, Man., to Jacob and Karolina Martens, she
married Herman Malish in Saskatoon on November 2, 1925 and the couple farmed
in the Lintlaw district until 1967 when they retired to Wadena Predeceased by her husband, four sisters and four brothers, she is survived by four sons, Oswald of Wadena, Jim of Edmonton, George (Louise) of Regina and Donald (Shirley) of West Memphis, Ark.; one daughter, Phyllis Bobryk of Wadena; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Canora Courier, December 12, 2001 HANCHAR: Funeral service for Peter Hanchar, 87, of Canora, who died December 3 at the Gateway Lodge, was held December 7 at Leson's Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Southern and Pastor Dean Forster officiating Burial was in the Hyas Protestant Cemetery, near Hyas, with Leson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born
on October 23, 1914, in the Danbury district to John and Annie (Sawchuk)
Hanchar, he attended Danbury School. In 1934, he married Isabel Magdee. He farmed
near Danbury until 1966 when he moved to Flin Flon. He worked at various jobs
in Flin Flon. He worked in a sawmill, cooked and was a butcher before working
with the parks board for the city. He retired in 1980 to Creighton. Predeceased by his parents John and Annie, his wife Isabel, three brothers, John, Nick and Bill, and three sisters, Anne Spivak, Thelma Larson and Dorothy Shostal, he is survived by a son, Wilfred of Winnipeg, five daughters, Janet (Joe) Mueller of Pinawa, Man., Bernice (Alex) Yanchuk of Portage La Prairie, Man., Lorraine (Warren) Malischewski of Canora, Rose (Ernie) Richardson of Snow Lake, Man., and Edie (Bruce) Henry of Winnipeg, a brother, Mike, of Yorkton; two sisters, Alice Moore of Winnipeg and Leona Heshka of Winnipeg, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Tom Byblow, 77, of the Whitesand district, who died
November 26 in the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, was held November 28 from
St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic church in Yorkton with Rev. Bryan Bayda
officiating. Burial was in Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Bailey's Funeral Home
in care of arrangements. Born
August 31, 1924 in the Whitesand district to Nick and Dora (nee Shumay) Byblow,
he was raised on the farm and attended Beblo Elementary School. He remained on
the family homestead until his death. Predeceased by his parents, three sisters, Pauline, Mary and Ann and four brothers, Dan, Steve, Mike and Bill, he is survived by two brothers, Peter (Anne) of Yorkton and Danny (Angie) of Saskatoon, and three sisters, Pearl Byblow of Yorkton, Cathy Tebbutt of Kitchener, Ont., and Sonia (Nick) Unick of Buchanan. Funeral service for Anne (Chopty) Bolton, 80, of Kelvington and
formerly of Hazel Dell, who died November 5 in Kelvington, was held November 7
at Kelvington Legion Community Centre with Terry Tompkins officiating. Burial
was in Kelvingrove Cemetery with Tompkins Funeral Home in care of
arrangements. Born
August 15, 1921, in Hazel Dell, she married Richard Bolton on August 9, 1941. Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by a son, Reg (Ruth); a daughter, Lois (Kyle); three brothers, Bill, Nick (Doris) and John (Marlene) of Preeceville, and a sister, Betty. Canora Courier, December 12, 2001 HANSEN: Memorial service for Sadie Hansen, 85, of Yorkton and formerly of the Buchanan district, who died November 27, was held December 1 from Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel in Yorkton with Mervin Dubnyk officiating. A private burial service is to take place at a later date with Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in care of arrangements. Born April 20, 1916 in the Buchanan district to George and Anne Lungull, she worked on farms in the district. In 1937, when married Howard Hansen and the coupled farmed in the Spalding area until 1946 when they moved to The Pas, Man. After she and her husband separated in 1962, she moved into The Pas and worked as a nurse's aid at St. Anthony's Hospital until her retirement. In 1988, she moved to Yorkton. And in 2000, she moved into the Yorkton and District Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents; five brothers, Bill, John, Mike, Tom and Nick, a sister, Alice, and a grandson, she is survived by two sons, Harold (Diane) and Clifford (Pam); three daughters, Janet Chepil, Sandra (John) Anderson and Leah (Doug) Phillips; one brother, Alec Lungull; two sisters, Mary Frey and Evelyn Marks; 14 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. |
