Canora Courier, December 19, 2001 GOGOL:
Funeral service for Wilma Gogol, 74, of the Canora. Gateway Lode, who
died Dec. 12 at the Lodge, was held Dec. 15 at. Leson's funeral home with
Pastor Greg Bright officiating. Burial was in the Canora Cemetery with Leson's
Funeral home in care of arrangements. Born on May 15, 1927, in the Amsterdam district to John and Pearl (Caruk) Woloshyn, she attended Gogol School. She was employed at the Canora hospital. On Nov. 11, 1946, she married Paul Gogol in Canora and they farmed five miles north of Canora. She was active in the Canora Horticultural Society and won many trophies over the years. She became ill with Alzheimer's in 1995 and was a resident of the Gateway Lodge for the past five years. Predeceased by her parents, John and Pearl, and a sister, Nettie, she is survived by her husband, Paul; two sons, Hartley (Bev) of Canora and Warren (Linda) of Canora; four sisters, Mary (Frank) Tohivsky of Toronto, Anne (Albert) Lansdtrom of Surrey, B.C., Florence Long of Regina and Olga Rakochy of Canora; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Dan Maximnuk, 45, of Boyle, Alta., and formerly of
Buchanan, who died Dec. 12 at his residence, was held Dec.
15 at Leson's Funeral Home with
Rev. Peter Wasylenko officiating. Cremation followed with Leson's Funeral Home
in care of arrangements. Born on October 28, 1956, in Canora to John and Annie (Pasiechnik) Maximnuk, he attended school in Buchanan. He purchased a semi-trailer unit which he operated in road construction and for hauling freight across Canada and United States. On Jan. 9, 1975, he married Virginia Burym in Canora. In 1995, he began his own log hauling company in Boyle. Predeceased by his mother, Annie, he is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, Keith (Deanna) of Calgary, his father, John of Buchanan; two brothers, Bill (Shirley) of Buchanan and Lorne (Maryanna) of Martensville; a sister, Loraine Schmidt (Glenn Cole) of Saskatoon, and one grandchild. |
