HOLOBOFF:  Funeral service for Lena Holoboff, 81, of Canora, who died Mar. 29 at Canora Hospital, was held Apr. 2 at Leson's Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Bright officiating. Burial was in the Canora Cemetery with Leson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on June 20, 1920, north of Mikado to Emil and Helen (Bogush) Sakundiak, she attended Zukufnt School. She married Alex P. Holoboff on Feb. 18, 1943, in Canora. They farmed northeast of Canora until Alex's death in 1975. She continued to live on the farm until 1987, when she moved to Canora. Predeceased by her parents, Emil and Helen, two sisters, Kate Zielinski and Ann Trach, and a brother, Alex Sakundiak, she is survived by two sons, Chris (Teresa) of Toronto and Wayne (Roberta) of Saskatoon; two brothers, Mike (Sophie) Sakundiak of Regina and Peter Sakundiak of Regina; two sisters, Bunny (Alex) Konoff of Regina and Evelyn Ryan of Windsor, Ont.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

MINHINNICK, Elizabeth Henrietta:  Elizabeth Henrietta Pocock passed peacefully from this life on January 23, 2002 at the Invermay Lodge. Funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 26 at the Invermay Community Hall with Rev. Miles Russell officiating. Organist was Jacquie Fogg and register attendants were Judith Bansley and Marcella Tabin. Casketbearers were Kevin Dickie, Adrian Dickie, Clarke Graham, Kelly Graham, Marcel Enns and Robert Thurston. Interment followed in the Invermay Cemetery. Elizabeth Henrietta Minhinnick, the eldest child of Chet and May Minhinnick, was born on Aug. 20, 1920 at Canora Hospital. Etta grew up on the family farm south of Invermay and at­tended Chain-of-Lakes School where she earned a Grade 10 education. She worked one winter for her aunt and uncle at the telephone office in Viscount, Sask. She then worked at housework in Melville for the fall of 1940 and in Roblin, Man. from April of 1941 until Dec. 1, 1946. On Dec. 25, 1946, Etta married Leonard Pocock and to this union five children were born: Joyce, Carol, Darlene, Grant and Garnet. Etta enjoyed their life on the farm, particularly the baby animals in the spring and harvest in the fall. She hauled many loads of grain and prepared meals at the same time. Etta loved spending time with her children and grand­children and delighted in their accomplishments. She welcomed company and enjoyed making lunch or meals for anyone who stopped in. Sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and baking for her family were favourite activities. She also very much enjoyed helping out with Hospital Auxiliary, Legion and United Church activities. Etta was predeceased by her parents, Chet (1970) and May (1979) Minhinnick. She is lonely remembered by Leonard, her loving husband of 55 years; her five children, Joyce (Ken) Thurston, Carol (Bruce) Dickie, Darlene (Billy) Graham, Grant (Brenda) and Garnet; thirteen grandchildren, Heather (Devin) Peddle, Charlene (Marcel) Enns, Robert Thurston, Kevin (Michelle), Shaun (Crystal), Adrian, and Jeremey Dickie, Michelle, Clarke, Wendy, and Kelly Graham, and Thomas and Brittany Pocock; four great­grandchildren, Alanna, and Darian Dickie, and Shane and Landon Dickie; brothers, Park (Jean) and Chester (Kathy) Minhinnick and sisters, Eileen Knight and Margaret (Frank) Knight and many nieces and nephews

DUTCHAK:  Funeral service for Gloria Dutchak, 64, of Rama, who died Mar. 28 at Canora Hospital, was held Apr. 1 at St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rama with Rev. Joakim Rae officiating. Burial was in the Canora Cemetery with Leson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Born on Oct. 27, 1937, at the Canora hospital to Andrew and Mary (Gulich) Steranka, she attended school in Donwell and high school in Foam Lake. She became a study supervisor at Main Road School, southwest of Rama She continued her studies and graduated from Teacher’s College in Moose Jaw in 1958. She first taught at Verdant Valley School, east of Canora, followed by a position at Mason School, northwest of Rama. She married Alex Dutchak on July 23, 1959, at St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Church in Rama. She taught at Bellenden School for a while and then worked as a substitute teacher for various schools in the area. Besides helping around the farm, she worked for Canora Home Care as an assessor coordinator for a number of years.

Predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Mary, and a son, Daren, she is survived by her husband, Alex; two sons, Darrell (Monaco) and Donn; two brothers, Steve (Eleanor) of Regina and Peter (Diane) of Qualicum Beach, B.C., and three grandchildren.

FOFONOFF:  Funeral service for Anne Fofonoff, 83, of Kamsack, and formerly of the Veregin district, who died Mar. 15 at Kamsack Hospital, was held Mar. 18 from the chapel of Andrychuk Funeral Home in Kamsack with Dr. Fred Strukoff officiating. Burial was in Veregin Cemetery with E. Andrychuk Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Born Jan. 2, 1919, in the Veregin district to Alex A. and Pearl (nee Ostoforoff) Popoff, she attended Wiznia School and worked on the farm. She was a member of the Veregin Doukhobor Society.

Predeceased by her parents, a son, Henry a brother, Pete Popoff and a sister, Tena Zbeetnoff, she is survived by two sons, Pete (Helen) of Veregin and Jack (Stephanie) of Kamsack; one sister, Pearl (Mike) Lazaroff of Canora; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild

LUKASH:  Funeral service for Florence Lukash, 58, of Yorkton and formerly of Canora, who died Mar. 13, was held Mar. 18 from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Dmytro Dnistrian and Rev. Bryan Bayda officiating. Burial was in Yorkton City Cemetery with Bailey's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Born to Paul and Lena Yurkiew on May 31, 1918 in Canora, she attended public school in Mikado and completed high school in Canora before attending Teachers' College in Regina. On July 18, 1964, she married Paul Lukash and the couple settled in Yorkton where she taught school.

Predeceased by her parents, her husband and a sister Stella, she is survived by two children, Darren (Cheryl) and Lisa; two sisters, Lorna (Orest) Sackney and Annette (Stanley) Popowich, and one granddaughter.

HOLMAN:  A memorial service for Lillian Mary Holman, 67, of Moose Jaw, and formerly of Lintlaw, who died Mar. 10 at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, was held Mar. 15.

Born in Lintlaw in 1934 to Alan and Mary Boyle, she attended Lintlaw School. She moved to Moose Jaw where she became a registered nurse. Due to poor health, she retired early in 1992 from nursing at Moose Jaw Union Hospital. She married George Holman in 1958.

Predeceased by her parents, Arza and Mary in 1975 and 1980, respectively, a brother Edgar in 2001 and a brother at birth, she is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Gordon (Lydia) and Robert (Dorothy) of Edmonton; a daughter, Carol (Darcy) Meier of Moose Jaw five brothers, Jim (Carole) of Kamloops, Dan (Lib of Williams Lake, B.C., Russ (Judy) of Moose Jaw, Howard of Moose Jaw and Roil (Cindy) of Preeceville; seven sisters, Shirley (Jim) Day of Surrey, B.C., Corinne (Sam) Didluck of Spruce Grove, Alta., Judy (Ernie) Stefanyshyn of Edmonton, Barbara (Henry) Malchuk of Winnipeg, and Sandra, Anita and Sharon (Dale) Zubko, all of Preeceville, and four grandchildren.
