Canora Courier October 20, 2004 Page 16 PROKOPCHUK: Funeral service for Mary Prokopchuk, 89, of Yorkton, who died Oct. 3, was held Oct. 8 at Holy Transfiguration Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yorkton with Rev. Roman Kocur officiating. Burial was at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Bailey’s Funeral Home in care of arrangements. She was born in the Veregin district on July 13, 1915 to John and Anna (Achtemichuk) Hubelit. Predeceased by her parents, her step-mother, Irene, three brothers, Peter, George and John Hubelit, and two sisters, Alvina Eftoda and Nettie Trafananko, she is survived by two daughters, Verna (Michael) Andrychuk and Gladys (Albert) Kardash; two brothers, Bert Armstrong and Norm (May) Prokopchuk; three sisters, Elsie Zelinski, Kay (Paul) Derkatch and Helen Schnick; one brother, Alex Hubelit; nine grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Canora Courier October 20, 2004 Page 16 BOBOWSKI: funeral service for William Bobowski, 84, of Yorkton, and formerly of Canora and the Veregin district, who died Oct. 1, was held Oct. 5 at the Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel with Rev. Adel Compton of St. Andrew’s United Church officiating. Burial was in Yorkton City Cemetery with Christie-Hill Funeral Chapel and Crematorium in care of arrangements. Born in Canora on Oct. 23, 1919, to Eknat and Josephine (Sharshin) Bobowski, he attended Pretty View School north of Veregin. He married Florence Zietsoff on Sept. 12, 1943. After completing a stationary engineer course by correspondence, he achieved his steam and refrigeration papers and for 38 years, he worked with the Yorkton Co-op Creamery. Predeceased by is parents, three brothers, Andrew, Jim and Nick, and two sisters, Mary and Katie, he is survived by his wife; two sons, Wayne of Yorkton and Dan (Fran) of Vancouver; one sister, Vera Bymak of Portage la Prairie, Man., and four grandchildren. Canora Courier October 20, 2004 Page 16 INGBRIGSTON: Funeral service for Clara Ingbrigston, 97, of Preeceville, and formerly of the Ketchen area, who died Oct. 9 at the Canora Gateway Lodge, was held Oct. 15 at Preeceville Funeral Home with Rev. Carlyle Johnson officiating. Burial was in the Poplar Grove Cemetery in the Ketchen district with Preeceville Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on Aug. 17, 1907, in Ardeck, S.D., to Joseph and Eunice Gowan, she attended Robinson Creek School in Saskatchewan. She married Ingvold Ingbrigston on Nov. 29, 1927, in Preeceville. She worked on the family farm and for the Lion’s hostel. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Eunice, her husband, Ingvold, a brother, Walter, and four sisters, Hazel Simes, Edith Saughmyhr, Elva Hedlund and Mabel Richards, she is survived by a son, Raymond (Helen) of Preeceville; three grandchildren, and 11 grandchildren. Canora Courier October 20, 2004 Page 16 MARTINSON: Funeral service for Ida Elizabeth Martinson, 91, of The Pas, and formerly of Kuroki, who died Sept. 26 at St. Paul’s Personal Care Home in The Pas, was held Sept. 30 in The Pas with James Hemauer officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery with Hemauer Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on July 11, 1913, in Mortlach, Sask. To George and Rebecca (McCann) Pengelly, she moved with her family to the Kuroki area in 1919, where she attended Patten School. She married Corey Martinson on Feb. 3, 1933, in Rose Valley. They moved to Cold Lake, Man., in the early 1950s and then to Wanless, Man., in 1955. She moved to Kuroki with Peter Stafford and when he died, she moved to The Pas. She became a resident of the personal care home in 2003. Predeceased by her husband, Corey, two sons, Kenneth and Gene in infancy; her parents, George and Rebecca, a sister, Pearl Rofle, and four brothers, Elmer, Clifford, Arthur and Albert, she is survived by three sons, Lyle (Mavis Fox), Donald (Ruth Gowing) and Norman (Judy Staner); a daughter, Karen; two sisters, Edith Herman and Ethel Rohne, and numerous grandchildren.
