Another pioneer, Frank (Smitty) Dimmick, has passed away.  The son of Moses and Elizabeth Dimmick, who came to Invermay in 1905, he was born on Aug. 2, 1907.  He was a stepbrother for Agnes (who later married John Francis) and Frederick (who spent the balance of his life in Invermay).  Frank took his schooling in Invermay and farmed near Sunningdale for many years.  He loved horses and was a caretaker at the Provincial Court Building in North Battleford for many years.  After retiring from this position, he returned to Sunningdale until his health failed and he moved back to Battleford.  Frank had a sharp mind to the end and always had time for a story or a game of crib.  He and his wife, Annie, had six children:  Gordon, Donald, Vivian, Eileen, Cecil and Douglas.  Frank (Smitty) died on May 13 with funeral and burial held in North Battleford.  Predeceased by his wife, one daughter, one grandchild and one great-grandchild, he is survived by his children, 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

ADOLPH RUDNITSKI June 6, 1985

Our dad, my husband was taken away from us much to young and too soon.

You never had that chance to see all your children marry,

You didn’t get to hold all your grandchildren in your arms or watch them grow, or talk to them about your love of farming.

Work was still such a big part of your life, when God took you.

Going on holidays with mom or fishing or golfing were some of the things you missed out on.

Our hearts all ached to see you after you left us.  But we know that God had other plans for you and you must be helping him with your hard working farm hands.

We will always remember your warm smile, your gentle blue eyes, your caring nature to your family and others,

There is a little part of you in all our families.

Our prayer is that God give you the peace and consolation.

We will always miss you and treasure our memories.

-Lovingly remembered by your wife, daughters and son-in-laws.  Wife Olga, daughter Barbara Gulka and husband Morris, daughter Donna Balawyder and husband Florian, daughter Cheryl Smith and husband Keith, and daughter Glenda Martens and husband Roger.  Also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

PALCHEWICH:  In loving memory of our dear mother, baba Mary, who passed away May 30, 1992.

She never failed to do her best,

Her heart was true and tender;

She toiled hard for those she loved,

Then left them to remember.

At early morn, when all was still,

God gave His great command;

In silent peace she passed away,

Into a better land.

-Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter Vivian, son-in-law Leonard, and children.

A whole year;

But happy memories,

Keep you near.

Loving words,

No longer told;

But always in our hearts,

To hold.

-Lovingly and missed by wife Lilly, daughter Evelyn (Ton), son Ken (Annette).
