Canora Courier, December 14, 2005 Page 13 Both persons charged enter not guilty pleas Not-guilty pleas were entered Dec. 1 by Marina Quewezance, 30, of the Kamsack district and Brian Thompson, 41, of the Canora district, who are charged with the second degree murder of Ed Gorski of Canora. During the brief appearance at provincial Court in Canora a date for a preliminary hearing was set for Apr. 6. However, a bail hear has since been scheduled for Quewezance on Dec. 16 in Yorkton. The outcome may affect the preliminary hearing date. Gorski’s body was discovered on Oct. 24 at 119 Third Avenue east in Canora, but it is believed that he died on Oct. 22. Canora Courier, December 14, 2005 Page B5 KUCHERAVY: Funeral service for Ada Kucheravy, 72, of Foam Lake, and formerly of the Stenen area, who died Nov. 18 at the Wynyard Health Centre, was held Nov. 23 at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre in Yorkton with rev. Michael Bergman officiating, Burial was in the Garden of St. Mark with Bailey’s Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on Mar. 11, 1933, in Stenen to Edward and Margaret Moore, her family moved to Langenburg in 1949. She worked as a waitress and then took a hairdressing course in Regina. She opened her own shop beside the poolroom in Langenburg. The business was moved to the old Sears building and she also ran Country Kitchen. She moved to Foam Lake where she met Willie Kucheravy. They were married in Yorkton on May 5, 1981. They farmed near Foam Lake. Predeceased by her parents, Edeard and Margaret, a sister, Pat Zandee, she is survived by her husband, Willie; a brother, Keith (Diane) Moore of Calgary; and four sisters, Cleo (Bob) Fieseler of Langenburg, Mavis Fieseler of Calgary, Lorraine Brown of Calgary and Maureen (Bob) Laurie of Saskatoon. Canora Courier, December 14, 2005 Page B5 KOZAR: Funeral service for Stan Kozar, 75, of Regina, and formerly of Amsterdam, was held Nov. 21 at Christ Lutheran Church in Regina with Pastor Bob Leeson officiating. Predeceased by his parents, Steve and Mary Kosar of Amsterdam, he is survived by two sons, Craig (Charlene) of Regina and Clint of Calgary; two daughters, Cynthia Brooks of Campbell River and Belinda (Mike) Mitchell of Kenora, Ont.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. |
