Alice Munday’s husband, Ken, of Margo passed away on June 24.  Funeral was in Elfros Community Hall on June 29 with burial in the cemetery south of Elfros.  (One son is buried there, also)

WASYLKIW:  Funeral service for Steve Wasylkiw, 95, of Buchanan, who died June 24 at the Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack, was held June 29 at the Descent of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church in Buchanan with Rev. Joakim Rac officiating. Burial was in the Canora Cemetery with Leson's Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born on Dec. 10, 1910, on the family farm in the Buchanan district to Dmetro and Tekla (Tuchiwsky) Wasylkiw, he attended Dydland School. He married Miroslava Hrynchyshyn in October of 1939 and they farmed with his parents until they bought their own land a few years later. She died on Jan. 11, 1964. On Jan. 19, 1965, he married Mary Rusnak at the Descent of the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church and they lived in Canora for a short period, before returning to Buchanan. She died in 2003 and he continued to live in Buchanan until a few months ago, when he moved to the Eaglestone Lodge in Kamsack. He was a member of the Descent of the Holy Ghost church and a member of Club 50 in Buchanan. Predeceased by his parents, Dmetro and Tekla, his first wife Miroslava, his second wife Mary, a brother, Mike, and a sister, Mary, he is survived by a son, William (Grace) of Winfield, B.C.; two daughters, Olga (Herb) Golly of Regina and Dianne (carry) Bilous of Calgary; two step­sons, Al (Phyllis) Rusnak of Vancouver and Nick (Doris) Rusnak of B.C.; five grandchil­dren, and seven great-grand­children.
