In loving memory of Victoria (Vicky), our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who passed away Jan. 22, 1999. How do we write in paper, The things we feel inside? Thank you for the years you gave me, And for the great times we shared; We hoped to have so many more. Our songs were never ending, Till one day the music died; I know that when you left me, You knew how much I cared. In tears I saw you sinking, I watched you fade away; My heart was broken, You fought so hard to stay. May the winds of love blow gently, And whisper so you can hear; How much I love and miss you, And wish that you were here. - Love as always, Elaine. Canora Courier, January 18, 2006 Page B5 HESHEDAHL: Funeral service for the late Norman Randolph Heshedahl, 89, of Preeceville, formerly the Norway district, who passed away Dec. 19, 2005 at the Gateway Lodge, Canora, was held Dec. 22 at the chapel of Preeceville Funeral Home, with Pastor Carlyle Johnson officiating. Burial was in Preeceville Cemetery, with Preeceville Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Born April 15, 1916 at his home in the Norway district, which was the practice of the day, to Anna and Andrew Heshedahl, Norman was educated at Norway School. He later purchased the building and remodeled it into the family home, digging the basement by hand, with only the use of a stone boat to haul the dirt. He was married July 30, 1947 to Delia DuBois at the Roman Catholic church in Buchanan. She had come to the Norway district to teach school. They both loved the land and were proud to call this area home. Their partnership and hard work kept them young at heart and lasted 55 years. Norman was a devoted father to their only child Darlene. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, Jessica and Aaron, but sad to see them grow up so quickly. Being a farmer, he took great pleasure from seeing his newly summer fallowed fields of grain that surrounded their home. Norman also got great pleasure from creating a farm yard and garden, that could have been on a postcard from the prairies. Norman found the simple things very fulfilling in his life, and kept his sense of humour to the end. His memory will endure because he lived in an extraordinary way. Predeceased by his parents, Anna and Andrew Heshedahl, and wife Delia, siblings Irvin, Angeline, Sarah, William, Amy, Walter and Lloyd, he is survived by sister Garnet Allen of San Francisco, daughter Darlene Miller and grandchildren Aaron and Jessica Miller of Swift Current. |
