Faye Negraeff passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on November 23rd, 2007 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre at the age of 90 years.

Faye was born on July 15th, 1917 near Buchanan, SK to George and Susan (nee) Abetkoff. She attended Devil's Lake School. She began working in Canora in 1942 at Hancheroff's until she married John Negraeff on March 15th, 1946, though sadly they separated in 1962. It became necessary for Faye to return to work. Consequently she spent about nine years at Frank's Department Store, two and a half years at the Gateway Co-op, then nineteen very happy years at first Johnny's, then W & P Plumbing & Heating where she stayed until retiring at age 69.

Faye became passionately involved in Genealogy, and spent several years researching and formulating the Family Tree of both Abetkoff and Negraeff families. She was actively involved with Keen Age Centre in Canora as Secretary and photographer. A highlight included winning a trip to Phoenix, Arizona which awed her. She loved working at the Canora Tourism Information Booth and being in the Senior Ladies Bowling League. She also became an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and wouldn't miss a game. In her early years, Faye collected photos of movie stars and the Royal Family. She loved sewing, gardening, the movies, mystery stories, reading, puzzles, crosswords, photography and stamp collecting, cooking, baking and experimenting with new recipes.

She took pride in her appearance and enjoyed little shopping trips. She used to enjoy driving her relatives and friends to places when they no longer could drive. Faye adored her grandchildren and would always be busy preparing their favourite dishes in anticipation of their arrival. Her Greatest joy was having family around her. The entire family knew how to play canasta, by her rules and spent many happy hours together. She was happy and fortunate to be able to live in her own home and drive a car until November of 2006. Her last home at Porch Light Care Home in Yorkton was a blessing. The staff adored her and treated her with love, great care and compassion.

Faye will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters: Lisa (Garry) Rebalkin of Saskatoon, SK and Jane (Bohdan) Popowych of Foam Lake, SK; her grandchildren: Lori, Brian (Bree), Stephan, Christina and Andrea; her sister Mary Postnikoff of Gilbert Plains, MB and several cousins, brothersin-law: Hank & Peter Negraeff, sister-in-law Tina Lapshinoff and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1977, her parents: George (1963) and Susan (1978) Abetkoff, sisters Mabel Abetkoff ( 1994) and Helen Bachuk (2007).

The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home, Canora with the Canora Doukhobor Society officiating. Gordon Bergen was born on June 28, 1933, the son of John and Kate Bergen in Waldhiem, Saskatchewan. When Gordon was six, the family moved to Erwood and he received his education at Espenville.

Gordon worked on the family farm until the 1960's when he had the opportunity to tour Alberta fiddling with the Steve Sereda Band and his horse, Trigger. He then gained employment at the Hudson Bay Timberboard Plainer Mill. Over the years, Gordon also worked for Stu Ross doing carpentry work and with Alex Kadon Plumbing and Heating before joining the CNR in 1969 where he continued to work until his retirement in 1994 after 25 years of service. Gordon enjoyed music, and he could play almost any string instrument. He played fiddle with the Home Town Jamboree Boys, then fiddle and bass with the Can Am Band of Canora and Amsterdam and later with the Parkland Fiddlers of Yorkton. Playing left hand fiddle, Gordon later became their leader until his stroke in 2005. An avid card player, Gordon usually found winning was on his side, but didn't mind losing sometimes. He also enjoyed bowling as well as outdoor activities like camping, fishing or just a stroll with his grandchildren. After his stroke he enjoyed going out to the Lukey farm to cut grass, he had it down to a "T" and will be dearly missed when they have to do it themselves.

Gordon was predeceased by his father, John; his mother, Katherine; his brothers, Ken and Jack; his mother-in-law, Bernice Haczkewicz; his father-inlaw, Stanley Haczkewicz; his sisters-in-law, Dolly Haczkewicz, Isobel Casement and Debbie Haczkewicz and his brothers-in-law, Anthony Haczkewicz and Rollie Burbeck;.
