Baby Noah Reginald Genoway beloved son of Kenneth Genoway and Dori Yagelniski, brother to Lowen became an Angel of God on December 13th, 2006 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre.

Baby Noah will also be lovingly remembered by his maternal grandparents: Pat and Gerald Yagelniski; his paternal grandparents: Edmund and Elsie Genoway; his great grandmother Cassie Yaganiski; his aunts and uncles: Trish (Ben) Shewchuk, Jerrie Lynn (Keith) Kuzminski, Lisa Vitkauskas, Roger (Nancy) Genoway, Roslyn (Phil) Macala, Venetia (Greg) Wolkowski, Joseph (Brenda) Genoway, Elizabeth (Kevin) Palchewich and Edmund (Dana) Genoway; his cousins: Karlie-Dawn & Korwin Shewchuk, Hailey and Madix Vitkauskas, Erik & Kurt Genoway, Tanis & Leslie Macala, Alicia (Trent) Roebuck, Arlen, Jared & Jolene Wolkowski, Andrea, Janelle & Cassandra Genoway, Meaghan, Jessica, Rylan and Tyler Palchewich, Jacob & Benjamin Genoway. Baby Noah was predeceased by his two cousins Anna and Joshua Genoway.

The Funeral Service for the family was held on Monday, December 18th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home, Canora with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degutis officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora, SK 563-5671.

DR. PETRUS J. KULING 1926 - 2007

Petrus (Hans) Kuling died peacefully on January 3, 2007 at the age of 80 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon. Hans was the eldest of 10 children, born on May 12, 1926 in Medan, Indonesia.

Hans will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Elizabeth Kuling and his children, Peter Kuling (Tina Van Dusen), Paul (Susan) Kuling, Monica (Ron) Mellor, Michelle (Craig) Senkow, Martin (Kelly) Kuling, Robert (Verna) Kuling, Nicole (Tom) MacNeil, Jacqueline (Vern) Wonziak, Chris Kuling and Richard Kuling. He is also survived by his beloved 30 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his two grandsons Jeremy Mellor and Gabriel Kuling and two siblings, Tom and Therese Kuling.

Hans moved from the Netherlands to Boston after graduating as a dentist in 1951. He did further studies in pediatric dentistry on a scholarship at Harvard University. Hans and Elly were married in Boston in 1952. In 1953, he and Elizabeth moved to Saskatchewan and eventually settled in Canora to practice family dentistry where they resided and raised their family from 1958 to 2006. He enjoyed his practice of pediatric dentistry in remote northern aboriginal communities and he was also involved in teaching for the College of Dentistry. Hans also took great pride in being a coroner for the Government of Saskatchewan for 45 years.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stensrud Lodge and St. Paul's Hospital for their excellent care.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Cathedral on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be provided to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 3rd Ave. N., Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H7) or to Stensrud Lodge (2202 McEown Ave., Saskatoon, SK, S7J 3L6) Email condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Elmer Dutchak of Canora passed away peacefully at the Canora Hospital on December 29th, 2006 at the age of 74 years. Elmer was born in Canora on July 19th, 1932 to Joe and Caroline (nee Gogol) Dutchak.

As a young man, Elmer attended the Gogol school achieving his grade 8. Following his schooling Elmer worked at a variety of odd jobs before beginning his work with the Canadian National Railway in track maintenance. He worked for approximately 18 years before his retirement in 1995. Elmer was an avid hunter and fisherman and was also very active in the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Canora Branch where he would always be fund raising for the club. He loved sports but mainly hockey and baseball. He travelled to Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA to watch a Toronto Blue Jays game. He was very active with the local Canora Cobra Hockey team always helping with their fund raising, by selling tickets or hockey pools. Elmer was an active member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. His pride and joy was his truck and kept it meticulously clean. In his later years Elmer would often be found playing cards especially cribbage. At Christmas time, an annual cribbage game would take place at the Dutchak residence and Elmer would take part but didn't like to lose.

Elmer will be dearly missed by all. He is survived by his two brothers: Marvin (Jean) Dutchak and Richard (Eleanor) Dutchak both of Canora as well as his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents: Joe and Caroline.

The Prayer Service was held on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007 from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy was held on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 from Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Canora with Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery.

Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Canora Branch or to a Charity of Choice as tokens of remembrance. Arrangements were entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora. (563-5671).

FEDYK: Diana Fedyk of the Canora Gateway Lodge passed away peacefully on December 13th, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Diana was born on September 4th, 1922 in the Arran district to Paul and Dora (nee Bowolin) Chernenkoff. Diana attended the Arran Schools while helping on the family farm. Diana married Alex Antifaev and together they lived in Pelly and then in Arran. After the passing of Alex, Diana married Mike Fedyk and together they resided in Benito, MB. They also lived in Salmon Arm, B.C. before returning to a farm near Arran. In 1996, they relocated to Canora. After Mike's passing, Diana continued to live in Canora until she became a resident of the Canora Hospital Long Term Care in 2002 and then the Gateway Lodge in February of 2006 where she resided until her passing. In her earlier years, Diana loved all animals on the farm especially the little calves in the spring. Prior to her marriage, Diana was a housekeeper for families in the Arran district and also worked in the orchards when she lived in B.C. Diana will be dearly missed. She is survived by her niece Joanne Holbrook of B.C.; her nephew Darrell Hicks also of B.C. Diana was predeceased by her 1st husband, Alex and her 2nd husband Mike; her parents: Paul and Dora; her brother Mike Chernenkoff and her sister Frances Hicks. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, December 19th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home with Rev. Mavis Watson officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery. Margaret Jean Davis beloved wife of the late Ralph Davis of Saskatoon and formerly of Canora passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon at the age of 89 years.

Margaret was born on the family farm near Kipling, SK on December 9th, 1917 to Eberley and Laura (nee Proctor) Coffey. She attended the Saffordia School until grade 9, she was then home schooled for grades 10 & 11 and completed her grade 12 at the Kipling High School.

After her graduation, Margaret began work at the Toronto Dominion Bank in Mazenod, SK in 1941 and it was during this time she met Ralph Davis and they were married on November 17th, 1943 on the Coffey family farm. Together they moved to Canora in 1944 and they became co-owners of the Canora Courier. In 1950, Margaret started the first group of Brownies in Canora. In 1960, Margaret and Ralph along with their three boys moved to Regina after they sold their interest in the Canora Courier. In 1961, she began accepting children for foster care and continued this until 1975. During this time they added to their family by adopting Michael and Mary Anne. In 1967, the family returned to Canora and she was employed at the Robinson Store until 1975 when they purchased the Health Food Store.

During her time in Canora, Margaret was not idle. Along with having foster children and raising her own family, she was involved in many different organizations: 28 years with Girl Guides as Captain, Provincial Executive and Chairman of the National World of the Child, Vice President of the Canora Chamber of Commerce, 20 years on the local and divisional school boards in the Canora area and was instrumental in the establishment of the first branch offices of the Rural Area Cancer, she volunteered for the United Way and the Canadian Diabetes Foundation, also the president of the ACW., Little Helpers and the Alter Guild.

Throughout Margaret's life she seemed to do nothing but work, but she did find time to enjoy life. She took family vacations every year and traditional holiday's such as Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas were a big deal and not to be taken lightly, as she was a religious person.

Margaret's hobbies included such things as golfing at the age of 82 and she received a silver medal at the Saskatchewan Senior Summer Games, she also was able to get in 9 holes with her son Randy this past summer. She also enjoyed bowling and curling. Other hobbies and crafts would bring her pleasure, making doll clothes for children, Macrame hangers, Cross stitch, Knitting and her flower garden which she truly loved. Margaret loved to travel to such places as the States and in later years she made two trips to Australia, once with her daughter Mary Anne and once with her husband Ralph.

In 2005 after the passing of her husband Ralph, Margaret relocated to Saskatoon in October where she resided until her passing. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her four sons: Warren (Leanne) of Saskatoon, Randy of Calgary, AB, Paul (Kim) of Saskatoon, SK and Mike (Diane) of Canora, SK; her daughter Mary Anne (Volle') Posa' of Australia; her brother Scofield Coffey of Kipling, SK as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph; her parents: Eberley and Laura; her brothers: Robert and Ralph Coffey and her sister Mary Marushechka.

The Service of Remembrance was held from St. George's Anglican Church, Canora with Rev. Ken Buchan officiating. Interment of Cremated Remains followed in the Riverview Cemetery, Kamsack, SK.

Walter Duchnitski of 205 Roslyn Avenue, Canora, passed away on December 21, 2006 at the Canora Hospital, at the age of 88 years. Walter was born on October 2, 1918 in the Buchanan District to parents Carl and Dora (nee Sidney) Duchnitski.

He attended Chernowitz School and worked on the family farm until 1949. He then moved to Kamloops, B.C. and worked as a logger in various lumber camps until 1972. He loved big fancy cars in which he made many trips from B.C. to Saskatchewan. Walter then returned to Saskatchewan and settled in Yorkton living with his brother Mike. He worked at an International Farm Implement dealership until 1983, when he retired and moved to Canora. Walter was an avid self-taught carpenter who enjoyed making little inventions and his willingness to help friends and relatives that came his way. His proudest accomplishments were a big barn he built at the homestead before leaving for Kamloops, and making the rod iron gate at Vasloutz church in his retirement. His favourite pastimes were playing cards, gardening and reading. He was an animal lover and enjoyed the outdoors. Walter was a member of St. Constantine and Helen Ukrainian Catholic Church where he also served as caretaker of the Vasloutz cemetery. He spent most of his later years with his buddy and loved companion Matsoko the cat. Walter spoke highly of his family and friends while enjoying soup, coffee and pie at the local Co-op restaurant in Canora.

Walter is predeceased by his parents Carl and Dora Duchnitski; his sisters Sophie Pernitsky, Katie Dennis, Annie Patras, Mary Kostishen, Nellie Duchnitski and Franca in infancy; his brothers Joe, John, Mike and Tony. Walter is survived by his sister-in-law Katie Duchnitski of Hudson Bay as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Prayer Service was held from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home, Canora on Wednesday, December 27th, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated from Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Canora on Thursday, December 28th, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joakim Rac officiating. Interment followed in the Vasloutz Cemetery, south of Buchanan.
