Wozney, beloved husband of Eleanor Wozney of Canora,
passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Canora Hospital on
September 5th, 2007 at the age of 73 years. Ernie
was born on May 3rd, 1934 in Canora, SK to John and Dora (nee: Wasylkiw)
Wozney. As a young boy, Ernie attended East Scalet School where he completed
his Grade 8 and then continued on with his education through correspondence.
Ernie's first fulltime job was delivering groceries by bicycle in Canora. He
then moved to Yorkton and worked for a short time at the Coca Cola bottling
plant and at Woolworth's. Ernie's next calling took him to Northern Ontario
where he worked for the Hudson's Bay Company in Terrace Bay and in Atikokan. After
a couple of years in Ontario, Ernie felt the desire to move back to his home
province and so he moved to Regina. There he found employment with Worth's
Radio and he also began taking an electronics course by correspondence through
NRI (National Radio Institute). His new career continued and he went on to
work for Radio Supply Limited. It was at this time that Ernie also began
operating the public address system at Taylor Field for all the Saskatchewan
Roughrider home games. While
living in Regina, Ernie met Eleanor Spelay in 1962 and thus began a beautiful
five year courtship. Ernie left Regina after earning his Diploma from NRI and
moved back to Canora
in January of 1965 to start his own business. He opened up Canora Radio &
TV Sales & Service. Two years after starting his business, Ernie and
Eleanor were united in marriage on May 27, 1967. Ernie continued running his
electronics business and eventually took on the added responsibility of
appliance sales and service. After
42 years of dedicated service to the residents of Canora, Ernie retired on
September 17th, 2006. Ernie had many interests and hobbies which included
electronics, reading, music, woodworking) carpentry, fixing old cars and
travelling. His travels took him to such places as Jamaica, Disney World,
Fatima Portugal, Lourdes France, Denver Colorado and many places in BC. Ernie
was a jack-of-alltrades and it seemed there was nothing he couldn't fix. He
had a very big heart and loved to help everyone who required his services. He
will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Ernie
is lovingly remembered by his wife Eleanor; his sons Peter Wozney of Regina
and Michael Wozney of Yorkton; his sister Emily (Mike) Kotyk of Canora, as
well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John
and Dora. The Prayer Service was held on Sunday, September 9th, 2007 at 7:00

Edward Bodnarchuk, beloved husband of the late Nellie Bodnarchuk of Canora,
passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on September 8th, 2007 at
the age of 72 years. Edward
was born on October 12th, 1934 in Canora, SK to John and Katherina (nee: Wolos)
Bodnarchuk. He grew up on the family farm north of Canora along with his four
brothers. Edward attended Brena School where he completed his Grade 8. He then
went on to gain valuable work experience through various jobs. One of his jobs
took him to Snow Lake, MB but most of his jobs involved working for farmers in
the surrounding area. Edward also farmed with his Dad and eventually took over
the family farm. He married Nellie Ratushniak on July 14th, 1962 in Canora.
Edward continued farming and one of his greatest joys was raising sheep on the
farm. Family was important to Ed and he especially enjoyed the time spent
laughing and joking with his nieces and nephews. Failing
health forced Edward to take up residence at the Canora Gateway Lodge shortly
after his wife's death in 1997. Ed was a hard working and generous man. He
will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace. Edward
is lovingly remembered by his brothers: William (Iris) Bodnarchuk and Paul
