(AVDOTIA) LAPSHINOFF It
is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved
mother. grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris Lapshinoff. She went to be
with the Lord on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 3:20 p.m. in the Kamsack Nursing
Home. The
funeral service for Doris, 77 of Kamsack. was held on Saturday. June 16, in
the Veregin Doukhobour Prayer Home at Veregin. Saskatchewan with Keith
Tarasoff officiating. Interment was in the Veregin Cemetery. Doris
was born on November 10, 1929 on the family farm three miles south of Veregin
to Wasyl and Mabel (nee Dergousoff) Lazaroff. In
January of 1949, Doris married John Lapshinoff and started a family. They
lived in Pelly, Kamsack and then settled in Veregin. At
the age of 64 and after having had a stroke, she retired from the Veregin Post
Office on December 24, 1993, and continued to live in Veregin. Eventually, she
sold her home in Veregin, and moved to a senior's duplex in Kamsack. Doris
is survived by two sons, John (Muriel) of Saskatoon and Peter (Cindy) of
Lloydminster, AB; four grandchildren, Andrea (Bruce) Klassen of Regina,
Jacqualine Haller of Toronto, ON, Aaron Pelletier of Martensville and Jonathon
Lapshinoff of Lloydminster; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ava of Regina. Doris
was predeceased by her husband, John in 1974; one brother, Peter Lazaroff; her
parents, Wasyl and Mabel (nee Dergousoff) Lazaroff. Anyone
wishing to make expressions of sympathy, may make donations to the following:

Loving wife of Jack and mother of Shirley (John), grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her parents Wasil and Helen (Dergousoff), her brother Joe and sister Polly. Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 80 year,
Ed passed away after a battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish
Ed's memory are his six children. Deborah (Bill), Janet (Barry), Bruce, David
(Carol), Susan and Patti; grandchildren. Leanne, Amanda, Wes, Eddie and Sarah:
brother John (Mary); sisters, Helen (John) Hanishewski, Ann (Jim) Carroll,
Rose (Al) Impey; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his
companion Virginia Klyne; wife Carol (nee Flegel); parents Joseph and Mary;
and brothers, Peter and Albert. Born February 17, 1927, in Buchanan, Saskatchewan, Ed served in the RCAF with four years in NATO (3) F Wing, Zweibrucken, Germany. He was a member of Legion No. 4 and ANAF 283. After military service, Ed was employed with Canada Post and spent the last 10 years in the St. James Post Office as a sales clerk. He retired in 1987 and was a member of the Post Officers Heritage Club. Ed loved to travel and spent many enjoyable hours working in his garden. He also had a keen interest in curling and golfing. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, May 28 at the Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Avenue at Rouge Road, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault. P.H., presiding. Interment was at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, Man. |
