Mary Cymbalisty beloved wife of Louis Cymbalisty of Canora passed away suddenly at the Canora Hospital on January 19th, 2007 at the age of 82 years.

Mary was born on May 7th, 1924 in the Preeceville district to Dan and Pauline (nee Bodnar) Glowatsky. As a young girl Mary attended the Hryhoriw School while helping on the family farm. Following her schooling, Mary began working at a general store in Tadmore for Joe and Anne Genoway. She then met Louis Cymbalisty and later they were married on October 26th, 1949 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity, now the Heritage Church in Canora. In the same year, Louis and Mary purchased their own farm in the Amsterdam district where they resided until 1961 when they relocated to Canora. Together they lived with her mother Pauline in Canora until they built their new home two years later. Mary worked for Stedman's for twenty plus years and then at the Canora Drugs store for several more years before her retirement. In 1967, their house was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Louis rebuilt their house at the same location and they continued to reside there until Mary's sudden passing.

Mary loved to cook, bake, sew, garden and was very proud of her flowers. Her greatest passions were her grandchildren. Mary would play many card games with them and the favourite was "Old Maid", which she always let the kids win. Louis and Mary travelled to various places like Chicago, Niagara Falls, Banff and Jasper. Mary was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Ladies Auxiliary in Canora. Mary's philosophy in life was to work very hard to provide for her family, always putting their needs before her own.

She will be dearly and sorrowfully missed by her family and friends. Mary is lovingly remembered by her husband Louis; her son Ron (Naomi) Cymbalisty of Canora; her sister Stella Clarke of St. Albert, AB and her beloved grandchildren: Maelee, Tiana and T-Jay Cymbalisty. She was predeceased by her parents: Dan and Pauline; her brother Mike Glowatsky and her two sisters: Helen Boyko and Anne Simes.
