Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 15 – In memory of: KRESAK:
In loving memory of our dear son and brother, Christopher. The moment that you died, Our hearts split in two; The
one side filled with memories, The other died with you. We
often lay awake at night, When
the world is fast asleep; And
take a walk down memory lane, With
tears upon our cheeks. Remembering you is easy, We
do it every day; But
missing you is heartache, That never goes away. We
hold you tightly in our hearts, And there you will remain; Life
has gone on without you, But
it will never be the same. For those who still have their son and brother, Treat
them with tender care; You
will never know the emptiness, As
you turn and he's not there. -Love mom, dad and Conrad. Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 15 – In memory of: MAKOWSKY:
In loving memory of Martin, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend, who passed
away November 11, 2006. He
had a nature you could not help loving, And
a heart that was purer than gold; And
to those who knew him and loved him, His
memory will never grow cold. -Forever in our hearts, Alvin, Bernice and family; John, Thelma and family. Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 15 – In memory of: ZIELINSKI,
STAN: November 3, 2004. There
is someone who misses you sadly, And
finds the time long since you went; There
is someone who thinks of you always, And
tries to be brave and content. Gone
is the face we loved so dear, Silent
the voice we loved to hear; Tis
sad, but true, we wonder why, The
best are always the first to die. -Forever loved and missed, Darcy, Tammy, Keshia, Chantal, Keely-Che. Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 15 LUKINUK,
Ron: October 30,1997 Ten
years have passed, since you were laid to rest in God's heavenly kingdom. And
the 10 years we've missed you. --Rest in peace, your family. Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 16 Raymond

Jacquemart, beloved wife of the late Leo
Jacquemart of Estevan and formerly of Norquay, passed away at the Estevan
Regional Nursing Home on October 21st, 2007 at the age of 83 years. Elsie
was born on November 12th, 1923 in the Gorlitz district to Fred and Ann (nee
Demchinsky) Sushelnitski. Elsie was the fifth born along with her parents, she
had siblings, John. Dora, Mary and Nick to appreciate this special little
package. Later Paul, Mike, Frank and Tony joined the close-knit family. Elsie
attended West Wexford near Burgis beach where she completed her grade eight.
She contemplated furthering her education to become a teacher, but she caught
the eye of a handsome man named George Marendiuk. In
July of 1940, Elsie and George were married. On April 12th, 1941, a bouncing
baby boy named Wayne was born. On July 5th, 1942, Wayne's faithful sidekick
Lenard was born. Next was a sweet beautiful baby girl named Jean on March 6th,
1944. On June 7th, 1949 a bundle of joy named Bernard joined the family. Elsie
worked at the Co-op Creamery and later at SaskTel as a caretaker. In
1960, tragedy struck when her husband George passed away from jobrelated
kidney failure. A couple of years later, she met another great love, Leo
Jacquemart and they were married on November 17th, 1962. On September 28th,
1964 they were double blessed with twin daughters, Karen and Koreen. She loved
the farm and worked very hard as Leo worked on the road for extra income.
Along with having the twins to look after, she had cattle, pigs, chickens, a
huge garden and helped on the fields. In 1990, Elsie and Leo moved to Canora
due to Elsie's health condition. She
still maintained a beautiful garden with flowers and vegetables and kept busy
with bowling and bingo. They loved to curl, bowl, pick mushrooms and
Saskatoons, play cards and go out with friends and family. Elsie was an
excellent cook and always worried about everyone else being comfortable,
overfed and happy. Her sense of humour was excellent and Leo loved to tease
her. Dementia
started to take her away in the late 90s. A horrific accident took her
youngest son Bernie in 1999 and in 2005 her love Leo passed away from
diabetes. Elsie spent her last four years in nursing homes. She was moved to
Estevan in the spring of 2005 and passed away from a stroke and pneumonia with
her twin daughters by her side. Her sincerity, love, humour, cooking and
loving spirit will be dearly missed. Elsie
is lovingly remembered by her sons: Wayne (lone) Marendiuk of Regina. SK.
Lenard Marendiuk of Canora and her step-son George Chernowski of Gibson, B.C.;
her daughters: Karen Charles (Gary Vertefeuille) of Regina, SK, Koreen
(Derrick) Kopelchuk of Oxbow, SK and Jean (Bill) Zywot of Barrie, ON; her

A. Strelioff of Canora passed away peacefully at
the Canora Hospital on October 20th, 2007 at the age of 41 years. Evan
was born on March 29th, 1966 in Canora, SK to Alex and Mary (nee Dergousoff)
Strelioff. He completed his Grade 12 at the Canora Composite School and then
went on to obtain his Certificate in Local Government Administration through
the University of Regina. As a Rural Municipal Administrator, Evan obtained a
Class "A" standing in Rural Municipal Administration. In his career
in local government, he was employed at the R.M. of Sliding Hills in Mikado,
at the R.M. of Cote in Kamsack, and the R.M. of Poplar Valley in Rockglen. He
also worked as an Assistant Administrator for the R.M. of Good Lake in Canora. Evan
was given high praise for his work and his employers came to rely on his
professional advice. Evan furthered his education by taking the Winnipeg based
U of R Income Tax Course in 1998. He was very proud to complete this course
with a perfect score (100%). Evan then went on to open an accounting and
income tax business, serving many appreciative clients. Evan
had many interests including sports, fishing and the outdoors. With the
Runneymede Raiders SloPitch team, he enjoyed much success as they were a
first class team. His fishing skills led him to capture first prize at an Ice
Fishing Derby, for a 261b., 2 oz. jackfish which was mounted on his wall. Evan
greatly enjoyed the many family outings to various lakes and trips to the
city. Evan
was a very kind man who always showed concern for his family. As an example,
when Evan received the sad news about his worsening condition, he begged his
Mom & Dad to be strong and to live many more years to help Lori care for
their children Shayla and Kyle - their interests to be attended to whenever
possible, be it school work or developing their admirable qualities of
personality. Evan showed great perseverance in completing any kind of work,
whether it be paper work, gardening, fixing whatever he could or just simply
shovelling snow. Evan considered his greatest accomplishment in life was
having his two talented and loving children, Shayla and Kyle. At the hospital
he took them aside, one by one, and expressed his love for them and gave them
instructions and advise on how to go on with their lives without a father.
"Be strong, try hard and seek what is good in your life", were
Evan's pleading wishes as he hugged and cried with his children. He will be
dearly missed by his family and friends. Evan
is lovingly remembered by his wife Lori; his daughter Shayla and son Kyle; his
parents Alex and Mary Strelioff of Canora; his brother Leonard of Canora; his
sister Nadia Strelioff of Canora and his nephew Jason Strelioff. He was
predeceased by his grandparents: John and Polly Strelioff and John and Nettie
Dergousoff. The
Funeral Service was held on Thursday, October 25th, 2007 from the Chapel of
Leson's Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. with the Canora Doukhobor Society
officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make
expressions of sympathy may make donations to a trust fund for Evan's
children, Kyle and Shayla, or the Canadian Cancer Society as tokens of
remembrance. Arrangements have been entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora, SK (563-5671). Canora Courier, October 31, 2007 Page 17 William
