BORODAYKO: Mary Borodayko of Norquay. SK passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the Lloydminster Hospital on November 26th. 2008 at the age of 82 years.

Mary was born on September 1st, 1926 in Westbend, SK to Harry and Dora (nee Dwernichuk) Iwasiuk and was the fifth of eight children. She married Michael Borodayko, a carpenter, in July of 1946 and together they raised four children: Sonia, Margaret, Yvonne and Josephine. Mary worked as the cook and housekeeper in the Norquay Hospital for over 30 years. She was a skilled Ukrainian cook and loved making perogies for everyone. Mary was very talented in fine needlework which included crocheting, embroidering, knitting and quilting. Playing cards was one of her favourite pastimes and she also volunteered much of her time to her community and was generous to all who befriended her. Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her three daughters: Margaret Martin of Regina, SK, Yvonne Sims (Glen Colledge) of Perth Australia, and Josie (Garold) Danyluk of Lloydminster, AB; her six grand- children: Theresa (Jim) McQuoid of Regina, SK, Cameron Martin of Edmonton, AB, Garth Danyluk of Calgary, AB, Jenice (Lance) Ward of Germany and David and Mark Sims of Perth Australia; five great grandchildren: Aric and Avery Martin of Edmonton and Mason, Jackson and Landen Ward of Germany and five siblings: Lilly, Peter, Victor, George and Ann. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Dora Iwasiuk, her husband Mike, her daughter Sonia and two brothers: Bill and Metro Iwasiuk.

A visitation was held on Monday, December 1st, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. both from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home, Canora with Reverend Catherine Pace officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Norquay Health Center or to the Canadian Cancer Society as tokens of remembrance. WASIK; Margaret. April 10. 1925 - November 29. 2008. With family by her side. Margaret passed away on November 29. 2008 at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 83.

Margaret was born in Stenen, Sask. and met her husband Paul on her birthday, April 20, 1943, while shopping on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg. Margaret also worked at Misericordia Hospital in her early years, and raised their 10 children. She always looked forward going to her day program at Park Manor Nursing Home, never missing a day.

Margaret will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends for her kindness, gracious manner, sincerity and good humour. She also had a fondness for her pets and farm animals.

Remembering to forever cherish Margaret's memory are Ken (Cindy), Leonard (Linda), James, Terry (Diane), Alan, Marjorie (Brian) and Russell. As well as all the nieces, nephews, grand- children, great-grandchildren and numerous friends. Margaret leaves this world to join those that departed before her. Husband Paul, children Beatrice, Melvin, and Wendy and her brothers and sister. Mom's favourite saying "I Love All You Kids".

A very special thank-you to all the volunteers, Lucy and all the staff at Park Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 5 at 2 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Park Manor Nursing Home.
