DUCHNITSKI: In memory of our dear parents, John C. (April 7, 1981) and Rayme (August 1, 2002) Duchnitski.

Dear God, take a message,

To our parents up above;

Tell them that we miss them,

And send them all our love.

-Always remembered with love by children, grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren.

Canora Courier, June 11, 2008 Page 12 – In memoriam:

DOROSH: In loving memory of Jim Dorosh, our brother and uncle, who passed away June 7, 2006.

They say there is a reason,

They say that time will heal;

But neither time or reason,

Will change the way we feel.

For no one knows the heartache,

That lies behind the smiles;

No one knows how many times,

We have broken down and cried.

You're so wonderful to think of,

But so hard to live without.

-Sadly missed by sisters. Margie, Bernice, Bev and families.

WERBOWESKY, Nellie: Who passed away June 15, 2003.

Today recalls the memory,

Of a loved one gone to rest;

And those who think of her today,

Are those who loved her best.

The flowers we lay upon her grave,

May wither and decay;

But the love for her who lies beneath,

Will never fade away.

-Loved, missed, and remembered by Evelyn and Ken, Robert and Marilynne, Bonnie and Dave, Kurt. Jamie, Sean, Nicole, Thomas.

GENOWAY: Edmund Leon Genoway, beloved husband of Elsie of Rama, SK passed away peacefully at the Canora Hospital on June 5th, 2008 at the age of 79 years.

Edmund was born on New Year's Eve in 1928. He was the youngest child of Joseph and Antonia. He always wanted to be a train engineer, as he watched the steam engines roll by on the tracks. This "dream" never materialized as his father passed away when Ed was only fifteen years old, so instead he stayed to farm with his mother while he attended Rama High School, and upon leaving school. He took an active part in sports, in and out of school. During his years at Boxmoor School he loved to pitch fastball and became very good at it, winning many a game near and far. Edmund also participated in community affairs, serving many years on the school board, the Rama credit union board, and the local Saskatchewan Wheat Pool committee.

Edmund married Elsie Ternowski on October 26th, 1952 at St. Anne's R. C. Church in Buchanan. Together they continued to farm, having his mother live with them until her passing in 1976. They have a family of seven children. Ed and Elsie lived on and shared the family farm yard with their eldest son, Roger and his wife Nancy. Jointly, there they operated a mixed grain and dairy farm operation. Dad always looked forward to visits from his children and grandchildren as there always seemed to be someone over at their house. He loved his conversations with family and friends, and will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, giving man. He will be sadly missed.

Edmund is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Elsie. His sons, daughters, spouses and grandchildren: Roger (Nancy) Erik & Kurt; Roslyn (Phillip) Tanis & Leslie Macala; Venetia (Greg) Alicia (Trent Robuck), Arlen (Kristen), Jared, Jolene Wolkowski; Joseph (Brenda) Andrea, Janelle & Cassandra; Kenneth (Dori) Lowen & Samuel; Elizabeth (Kevin) Meaghan, Jessica, Rylan & Tyler Palchewich; Edmund Jr. (Dana) Jacob & Benjamin. His sister Lena Slanisky and sister-in-law: Christine Genoway. He was predeceased by: his parents: Joseph and Antonia; brothers: Another and Edwar (in infancy); Sisters: Genevieve Muyers, Helen Leduchowski, Emily Slugoski; brothers-in-law: Walter Muyers, Sid Leduchowski, Edwin Slugoski, Peter Slanisky; Grandchildren: Anna & Joshua Genoway (stillborn), Noah Genoway (stillborn).

The Vigil of Prayer was held on Sunday, June 8th, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass was held on Monday, June 9th, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. both from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Rama with Rev. Fr. SHUYA: John Shuya of Canora and formally of the Norquay district, passed away at the Canora Hospital on June 2nd, 2008 at the age of 77 years.

John was born August 1st, 1930 to Mike and Mary (nee Moroz) Shuya just South of Hyas. He attended Spruce Grove School where he enjoyed playing baseball, a sport he still enjoyed watching on TV.

He grew up with three siblings: Ann (Norquay), Eugene (Canora), and Rose (Saskatoon). John's early career included working for the municipality building roads, working for the local Pioneer elevator, and farming. He met Luba Huska through her sister Vera, and they were married on April 23rd, 1950. Together, they farmed, purchased their own land, and ran a mixed cattle and grain operation.

On this farm they proudly raised a large family of ten daughters and six sons: Dennis (Rose), Vicky Corbin (Peter), Chris (Herb) Tetlock, Marlene (Bryon) Poulin, Patrick (Charmaine), Wayne, Darcy (Milton) Naclia, Loretta (Calvin) Cody, Laurie (Cindy), Darryl (Cindi), Karen (Shawn) Stoneham, Theresa (Cindy), Patti (Dawn), Paulette (Murray) Walker, Tim (Lorissa) and Cathy (Dan) Bastien. These children collectively gave John and Luba 30 wonderful grandchildren and 9 beautiful great-grandchildren. All of their children learned healthy work-ethics, and are very successful in their own careers. John and Luba retired from farming in May 2002, and moved to their present home in Canora. "Johnny" loved music, playing both the violin and guitar at dances, parties and family campfires. "Johnny" also loved socializing with friends and was a very proficient card-player with Troika and Canasta among his favourites. John is dearly loved by all and will be sadly missed.
