DANYLUK, Katie: In loving memory of a dear mom, grandma and greatgrandma, who passed away July 25, 2007.

One year has passed since that sad day,

When one we loved was called away;

God took her home, it was His will,

But in our hearts she liveth still.

Deep in the earth lies a picture,

Of a loved one laid to rest;

In memories frame we shall keep it,

Because she was one of the best.

-Sadly missed and forever remembered by Gloria, Don and Eileen and families.

WOLKOWSKI: In loving memory of Stan Wolkowski, who passed away July 21, 2006.

Those whom we love go out of sight,

But never out of mind;

They are cherished in the hearts,

Of those they leave behind.

Loving and kind in all his ways,

Upright and just in all his days;

Sincere and true in heart and mind,

Beautiful memories he left behind.

-Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Leona, Carey, Dwayne, Kim and Logan.

LINGL, Glenn: July 16, 2006. In loving memory of Glenn.

How do you write on paper,

The feelings you have inside;

Of the emptiness and heartaches,

When the son you loved has died.

To me he was so special,

What more is there to say;

Except to wish with all my heart,

That he was here today.

Love you always mom.

-Muriel.

PARASIUK: Thomas Parasiuk of Perth Australia and formerly of Stenen passed away on June 1st, 2008 at the Kalamunda Hospital in Australia at the age of 73 years having all his brothers and sisters visit with him before his passing. Tom was born on November 15th, 1934 in Stenen, SK to Mike and Annie (nee Trishchuk) Parasiuk. He was the eldest son of six children. He received his education at the Gold Bank School and graduated with his grade twelve diploma from Sturgis Composite High School. Upon completion of high school, he travelled to Calgary, AB to seek employment. Like many of that era from humble beginnings, Tom was driven to be successful. His first job was with a seismograph company and thereafter, with an oil well drilling company. He became employed with Brinkerhoff Drilling Co. in Alberta where he worked his way up to rig manager. He changed drilling contractors and became employed with Bawden Drilling Company. This company took him on his first international assignment of Australia where he worked offshore in the Bass Strait.

While on shore leave, he courted Marianne Van Gaal. They married and were blessed with two beautiful children, Shaun and Annalis. Unfortunately their marriage failed, they parted and each went their separate ways. Tom's international assignments didn't stop in Australia. He worked in SE Asia, Indonesia, New Guinea, Phillippines and Iran prior to moving to the UK, North Sea Operations. In the UK, he was promoted to Drilling Superintendent and was assigned to a Chevron Platform. Tom decided to leave the drilling contractor and seek employment with an oil company. He became employed as a Drilling Consultant. His work took him to the Czech Republic, Alberta and British Columbia. It wasn't long before it was time for him to retire from the oil industry. Tom retired to Penticton, B.C. where he designed and built his home and joined the Penticton Golf Club. Tom was a family orientated person. With his children and grandchildren living in Australia, Tom yearned to be near them and in 2004, at the age of 69, he took the challenge to immigrate to Perth, Australia. One of Tom's many talents lay in the field of architecture. He constructed a playhouse, dollhouse, rocking horse and a set of swings for his granddaughters. He loved it when they called him `Gido' (Grandpa) that gave him inspiration. Tom also designed and put the finishing touches on his home, near the Vines Golf Club where he became a member, utilizing his carpentry and DIY skills. Tom had many hobbies: cooking, canning preserves and making wine. Tom's real passion was golf, golf and more golf. Apparently he was also known as quite a good dancer by the ladies at the golf club. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In December of 2007, even though he suffered with discomfort, he flew to Canada to celebrate his mother's 97th birthday with his brothers and sisters and their spouses. Tom was an outspoken person with his own views and opinions on many topics which always led to a good heated debate. He had many great friends and loving family who will miss him dearly. Tom is lovingly remembered by his son Shaun (Kim Pattison) of Mount Waverley, Australia; his daughter Annalis (Anthony) Broad of Bassendean, Western Australia and his four grandchildren: Thomas and Casey Parasiuk and Mia and Anieke Broad; his sisters: Marianne Washburn (Michael Kozmeniuk) of Stenen, SK, Sylvia Gendreau of Ochre Beach MB; his brothers: Mervin (Betts) Parasiuk of Penticton, B.C. and Al (Lana) Parasiuk of Calgary, AB. He was predeceased by his parents: Mike and Annie Parasiuk, his sister Olga in infancy and his brothers-in-law: Robert Washburn and Louis Gendreau. The Funeral Service for Tom was held from the Chapel in Midland, Australia on June 5th, 2008. Tom was cremated and his cremated remains were brought to Canada. The Graveside Service will be held on July 25th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Canora Cemetery with Rev. Fr. Patrick Powalinsky officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora. (5635671).
