CHURSINOFF  DEDIO  PASLOSKI

Canora Courier, April 30, 2008 Page 16 – In memoriam:

DEDIO: In loving memory and respect for grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Dedio, who passed away on April 28, 2002.

We little knew that morning,

God was going to call your name;

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

You did not go alone;

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,

Your love is still our guide;

And although we cannot see you,

You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same;

But as God cal Is us one by one,

The chain will link again.

-Deeply missed and forever loved by Kyle, Susan, Matthew and Ailey.

PASLOSKI: Antonia was born on February 14, 1920 on the homestead farmhouse in Dobrowody, Sask. near Rama. She was the seventh of eight children of Joseph and Anna (Diakow) Bugiera.

In 1934 schooling was interrupted after she completed Grade 8 to help on the farm. In 1936 she met her husband Joe at a social on the farm. They married October 21, 1940. In preparation for married life, Antonia joined a group of ladies in 1940 in Canora and successfully took a course on homemaking, proper etiquette and social norms. This is where she picked up her skills with great cooking and baking. They moved to Rama in 1941, but lived in Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan between 1941 and 1945. In 1945 they moved back to Rama where Joe began work for Sask Wheat Pool. Here they raised their seven children and lived for 36 years. Antonia was actively involved in many aspects of parish and community life in Rama. Her faith and church were her foundation and she raised her children with that in mind. She loved music and singing.

In 1981, Antonia and Joe moved to Surrey, B.C. and into their home in Cloverdale. They quickly got involved in church, community and senior groups, their favourites being lawn bowling and day trips with other seniors. Antonia especially enjoyed her home, the beautiful garden and flowers. She continued to cook and bake, make crafts, sew and quilt for bazaars and charities. As grandchildren came along, she did her share of babysitting and loved it. Antonia has 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Antonia and Joe travelled to Lourdes, France with friends in 1991. In 1996 she and nine family members made a memorable trip to Poland and Ukraine. In 2002, Antonia moved into a seniors facility due to Alzheimer's. She passed away peacefully on April 7, 2008 in her 88th year.

Antonia is lovingly remembered by her children, Zita (Bob), Joanne, Gerald, Marilyn (Pat), Patrick (Cynthia), Joseph and Loretta; grandchildren. Shawn, Tara, Angel, Kerry, Evan, Dena, Brett, Colin, Preston, Megan and Amanda and their spouses; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Brielle, Michaela and Jesse; sisters, Kay and Mary; nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her parents and husband, Joseph; sisters, Caroline and Nettie; brothers, John and Eddie and grandson, Tim.
