Canora Courier, December 9, 2009 Page 17 KARMAZINUK:
In loving memory of our mother, Olga Karmazinuk, who passed away December
14,2005 If
roses grow in heaven, Lord
please pick a bunch for us; Place
them in our mother's arms, And
tell her they're from us. Tell
her we love and miss her, And
when she turns to smile; Place
a kiss upon her cheek; And hold her for awhile. A
golden heart stopped beating, Hard
working hands now rest; God
broke our heart to prove to us, He only takes the best. -Loving
you always, Beverly,
Diane, Randy, Kurtis and families. Canora Courier, December 9, 2009 Page 19 PRYCHAK:
Mike Prychak of Canora and formerly of Rama, entered eternal rest peacefully
on Saturday, November 28th, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Mike
was born to Louis and Anne (nee Dvorchuk) Prychak on March 19th, 1925 in the
Bellendeen District, south of Rama, the seventh of ten children. He attended
Stoneyview School until approximately grade 6. Helping on the farm was more of
a priority than school. Around the age of 20 he worked in the bush camps for a
winter then returned to the farm. In 1950 he met Mary Polowick at a dance in
Stoneyview School. This led to a life time partnership beginning on November
8th, 1951. They farmed seven miles south of Rama. To supplement farm income
and provide for their family of five children, he bought a truck and hauled
grain and cattle for farmers all through the area. In 1959, they moved to
acreage near Rama. The move broadened his clientele and trucking became his
livelihood, enabling him to buy bigger trucks every few years. These trucks
helped move households, hauled the curling rink sections to Rama, school
children on field trips, gravel to wherever needed and anything else that
needed moving. He
enjoyed gathering with people and having a good time and stopping in to the
local establishment to catch up on community events. He was a gambling man who
always hoped to win the big lotto. He was a winner at heart with his generous
nature, giving to the church, newborn babies or any person in need. Highlight
of a year were his family coming to visit or going to visit family in
Winnipeg. In 1999, they sold their acreage and moved to Canora. Highlights of
these retirement years were going to the farm and helping out any way he
could. Just last week he was thrilled to go on the combine with his grandson
Tim and make a few rounds. Going to Stephanie's and Myron's was a treat,
keeping track of bushels and combining progress. After Mary passed away, Mike
especially bonded with his sister Edna, looking forward to her visits and
phone calls. He was proud of keeping his home clean and had no intention of
moving. Mike
was predeceased by his parents, brothers Alex, Wasyl and Steve, sisters Katie,
Margaret, Annie, Eunice and Sonja and his wife Mary, and granddaughter Eren
Bugiera. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Eugene (Bev)
Prychak, daughters Stephanie (Myron) Owchar, Margaret (Ron) Pasloski, Maria
(Greg) Bugiera and Natalie (Jim) Isabelle, sister Edna Lasko (Al Wenarchuk),
grandchildren Deanne (Gerald) Matsalla, Tim Prychak, Michael (Deserie) Owchar,
Christopher (Marley) Owchar, Kevin Owchar (Jeannine Makowsky), Joseph (Raelyn)
Pasloski, Ronna Pasloski (Paul Nagy), Nathan Bugiera (Karin Statkewich),
Leanna Bugiera (Jake Sather), Alana and Dixie Isabelle, and
great-grandchildren, Emily, Michael and Andrew Owchar, Hailey and Brock
Pasloski. A Prayer Service was held from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held on Thursday, December 3rd, 2009 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Canora, at 10:00 a.m., both services officiated by Fr. Joakim Rac. Interment followed at the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Canora. Arrangements were entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora.
