BLEWETT BLEWETT JADDOCK MENZIES
Canora Courier, March 18, 2009 Page 16 BLEWETT:
In loving memory of Clark (Jack) Blewett, September 17, 1950 -March 19, 2007. Jack, it's been two years, And we still have tears. Not
to be seen, not to be heard
as you are gone, But
in our home your presence lives on. To
hear your voice, to see your smile, To
sit and talk to you awhile; To
be together the same way, Would
be my greatest wish today. Till
we meet again and have my wish come true. -Love you always, forget you never, remembering you forever, Diana. Canora Courier, March 18, 2009 Page 16 BLEWETT:
In loving memory of Clark Jack who passed away March 19, 2007. As
time passes memories stay, Deep
in our hearts, memory is kept, To
love, cherish and never forget. -Remembered and dearly missed by Paul, Sylvia, Mervin, Louise, Marcella and their families. Canora Courier, March 18, 2009 Page 17 MENZIES:
Robert Herbet Menzies,
known to most as Bert. was also know to a special few as uncle Herbert and
Uncle Scrooge. During the last few years he made jokes about not making it far
in life. Let me explain, on the 10th of June , 1936, he was born to Phyllis
and Harold Menzies only one mile west of where he and Jeanette now live.
Although Hudson Bay has always been home to Bert, his jobs took him to many
different places. Starting with the National Park at Waskesiu, then the Timber
Board at Mulcher. At the age of 21 he began a career with the CNR. For the
next 30 years, his career took him to many places including Ceba, Barrows,
Pukitawagon and Wekusko to name a few. In
1962, he was relief foreman in Ceba. In 1963, he was promoted to foreman also
in Ceba. 1975 saw Bert trying his hand as roadmaster in Mulcher, then onto
Prince Albert. In 1982, he was transferred to Canora, SK where he retired in
1987 with 30 years of service to the CNR. During his career on the railroad he
not only had many moves and new addresses, he also made lots of close dear
friends that were always kept important to him. Being a very private person,
his sense of humour was original. He also liked nothing better than to spend
hours with his friend Melvin drinking coffee, playing cards, or just smoking a
cig in complete silence with each other's company. Bert also felt at home at
the Fez. Sharing a few words with Max and playing slots. Of course we all know
that he only put in one $20 bill. A
trip of a lifetime for Bert and Jeanette came in August of 2000. They
travelled to B.C. to visit friends and family and take in the wonderful
scenery of Jasper, Hell's Gate, Kamloops and the Fraser Valley. Even though
Bert wanted to have nothing to do with the opening of the Starlight Cafe by
Jeanette in March of 2006, he soon became one of her best waiters. Pouring
coffee and visiting with everyone that entered. Not to mention the jokes he
had to share. Hostess with the Mostess. Bert
and Jeanette (Lysohirka) were married March 4, 1966 in Dauphin, MB. From this
union came five children. Life was not a complete fairy tale for Bert from a
young age. With a strong hand and a few harsh words, he taught his children
that hard work and respect were very important. He looked upon his family with
lots of pride. Five successful children, 15 grandchildren and a wife that
stood beside him through so much. He was a proud man. Bert was predeceased by his parents; brother Bill; brother-in-law Arnold, and nephew Derek. He is survived by his loving wife Jeanette; his children: Margaret (Darin Jacquemart) and their children: Andrew, Jessica, April, and Jamie-Lee; Jacqueline (Bob Nicoll) and their children: Jason, Ricky, stepson Bobby, grandchildren Emma and Kimberly; Jimmy (Laura Walden and daughter Melinda) and his children: Dylan and Melissa; Lisa (Travis Petryshyn) and their children: Ryan, Tyler, Matheson, and Jacob; and Bobby (Amanda Storoschuk); sisters Beth Stubel and Sharon (Grant) Coghill, brothers Allan (Terry) and Jim (Ellen), sister-in-law Annette, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. husband, John (1996); parents, Carl and Mary; brothers, Walter, Tony and Eddie
Nazar. Mom
was born in the Rama District and she married John Jaddock on September 3rd,
1945. Mom was a devoted and loving mother and dedicated her entire life in
caring for her husband and their five children. Her grandchildren and great
grandsons were a blessing and she cherished each one with her special love.
Mom was a devout Christian and her day was not complete without her evening
rosary. She had a special adoration for the Blessed Mother and always prayed
for the health and protection of her family. Mom lived her life caring for
others, whether she was gardening, cooking, working alongside dad on the farm
or volunteering at church events. Her tremendous cooking was a joy to all who
knew her. Mom was a humble and compassionate person. All who knew her were
touched by her warm sincerity. Vigil
for Valencia was held on Friday, March 13th at 7:00 p.m. and the Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.
Father David Tumback as the celebrant. Both services were from Holy Family
Roman Catholic Church (110- 104th Street West). The family would like to thank
our special Aunt Lee, who journeyed with us throughout mom's illness. Your
devotion to our mother and your ongoing support is a testimony of your love
for your sister. A special thanks to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit for
the compassionate care provided. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at
