SHCHYSCHUK: In loving memory of our dear father, grandfather and brother, Laddie.

He had a nature you could not help loving.

And a heart that was purer than gold;

And to those who knew him and loved him,

His memory will never grow cold.

-Your loving family, Barbara, Chrissy, Anna and Peter.

LANDSTAD: Millard George Landstad of Canora, passed away suddenly on January 5th, 2009 at the age of 73 years. He was born on July 25th, 1935 to Palmer and Annie (Wilson) Landstad near Sheho. SK, in the White Sand District.

As a young boy he attended Mainroad School. At 16 years of age he received his chauffeur's license and drove truck for George Wilson in Buchanan, SK. He was then offered a dealership with Shell Canada in Canora, where he was an agent for 35 years. Retirement did not slow him down; he was always helping his son, Greg, at his business. In addition to his career, Millard was also quite involved in the community. He was a volunteer fireman for 17 years as well as the fire chief for seven years. His love of fishing and hunting led him to be involved in the executive of the Canora Fish and Game and later was a long-time member of the Canora Wildlife Federation. In retirement, he donated his time and skills at the CN All Aboard Museum.

He met the love of his life, Alice Wlasichuk and they married on September 23,1959; they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They were blessed with four sons: Garry, Greg, Grant and Robbie. Millard took great pride in guiding and watching his sons grow up. His time spent with his sons involved not only fishing, hunting and trapping, but coaching hockey and baseball and time spent with them at Scout camps. He felt blessed with his 11 grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. Millard will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Millard is lovingly remembered by his wife Alice, his four sons and their families, Garry (Cyndie), Jessica, Andrea and Alison, Greg, (Shann) Ashley, Kaitlyn, and Brendon, Grant (Audrey) Carly, Hailey and Rylan, and Robbie (Annie) Kellan and Madeleine; and his sister Merle (Walter) Tratch. Millard was predeceased by his parents, Palmer and Annie (Wilson) Landstad.

Prayers were held on Thursday January 8th, 2009 and Funeral Service was held on Friday, January 9th, 2009, both from the Chapel of Leson's Funeral Home, Canora with Rev. Catherine Pace of the United Church of Canada officiating. Interment followed in the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to St. Andrew's United Church Memorial Fund, Canora or the Heart and Stroke foundation of Saskatchewan in memory of Millard. Arrangements were entrusted to LESON'S FUNERAL HOME, Canora. (563-5671).
