GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Andrew Stewart Weir
REV. ANDREW STEWART WEIR, CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI. The death
occurred at the Prince Edward Island Hospital of Rev. A.S. Weir, D.D., 82.
He was born in New Glasgow, N.S., and graduated from Pine Hill
Theological College in 1908. He held pastorates in Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and
P.E.I. He was minister of visitation at Trinity United Church, Charlottetown
and Trinity United Church, Summerside. In 1954 Mr. Weir was honored by Pine
Hill with an honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity. Mrs. Weir died in 1953.
She was the former Mildred Lawrence of Hantsport, N.S. Surviving is one son,
A. Stuart Weir, Charlottetown; two sisters, Mrs. W.L. King, Rhode Island: and
Mrs. Fred Myers, in Jersey City, N.J. The Funeral was held at the Pownal
United Church, conducted by Rev. Dr. W.A. MacQuarrie of Georgetown, assisted
by several members of the Presbytery. Burial in Pownal Cemetery.
