Bertie S. Weir

Bertie S. Weir 1908-1994. WEIR, Bertie S. - 86, Sherbrooke, Guysborough County, died June 12, 1994, in St. Mary's Memorial Hospital, Sherbrooke. Born in Stillwater, he was a son of the late Rod and Mary (Spears) Weir. He was a resident of Waternish for 40 years before moving to Sherbrooke in 1990, and a member of St. James Presbyterian Church, Sherbrooke. He was a veteran of the Second World War and had held various jobs throughout the Sherbrooke area before retiring from A. Anderson and Sons Ltd., Sherbrooke after 20 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Holmes; two daughters, Annette (Mrs. Ervin Matthews) Shubenacadie; Sheila (Mrs. Robert Reynolds) Lower Sackville; two sons, John, Coldbrook; George, Stillwater; three sisters, Nettie, Shubenacadie; Janie (Mrs. Gordon Jack); Martha (Mrs. Ted Smith) both of Halifax; two brothers, Dan, Truro; Bruce Stillwater; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandson. He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Hoise, Laughin. Visitation will be 2-4, 8-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, Stillwater. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. James Presbyterian Church, Rev. Glenn MacDonald officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to The Lung Association, St. Mary's Memorial Hospital or Parkinson's Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division.
