GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Bryan Charles Weir
Bryan C. Weir - On October 31, 1971 at the Winnipeg
General Hospital, Mr. Bryan Charles Weir, aged 36 years, dearly beloved
husband of Claire Weir of 374 Overdale St., St. James-Assiniboia. Funeral
services will be held in the Thompson Funeral Chapel, Broadway at Furby on
Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. K.S. Warne officiating. Interment in Chapel
Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Weir was born in Winnipeg and received his
education at Linwood School, St. James Collegiate and graduated from the
University of Manitoba with both a Bachelor of Engineering and Bachelor of
Education degrees. Since his graduation he has taught at the Manitou
Collegiate, Westwood Collegiate and latterly at the John Taylor Collegiate.
He also spent two years at the Teacher Training College at Georgetown,
Guiana and three years at the Kagumo Teacher Training College in Nyeri, Kenya.
For the past year he had been employed with the Spiroll Corporation. Bryan was
keenly interested in sports and especially hunting and was a member of the
Deer Lodge Curling Club and the Assiniboine Golf Club. Besides his loving wife Claire he leaves surviving his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weir of Winnipeg, a daughter Leslie and three sons
Bruce, Gordon and Bryan-Dixon and his many friends. Honorary pallbearers will
be Messrs.: Lou Harris, Dave Renne, George Glazier, Colon Settle, and Dr.
Barry Carleton. Active pallbearers will be Messrs.: Ed Aston, Rod McCulloch,
Dick Lennox, Jack Carnegie, Harvey Hill, and Jack Weir. The remains will rest
at the Thomson Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
