GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Harry Weir
Death Claims H. Weir, 55. A wide circle of friends and relatives in Moncton and other centres in the province today mourn the death of Harry Weir, 285 Dominion street. Mr. Weir died in Montreal Monday morning after a heart seizure. He was returning to his home here after attending the CNR War Vets' convention, which met in Hamilton, Ont., last week. He was accompanied to Hamilton by his wife, and they had arrived at their hotel Sunday night, and shortly after he was stricken. Mr. Weir was born in Moncton, 55 years ago, a son of Mr. And Mrs. Frank H. Weir. When he was 16 years old he went overseas in World War One with the 145th Battalion and shortly after transferred to the 16th Scottish Regiment of British Columbia and was with the Scottish Regiment all through the war. He was a member of the Canadian National Railway War Veterans, a member of St. Bernard's parish, and a Knight of Columbus, the Canadian Legion and Holy Name Society. Surviving are his wife, the former Ann Doyle, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank H. Weir, Moncton; two sons, William, Moncton, and Frank with the RCAF, Montreal; one brother, George Weir, Gagetown; two sisters, Mrs. Wilson Fearn, (Marjorie), Ormstown, Montreal, and Mrs. Walter Fearn, (Frances), New Waterford, N.S.
