GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

James Weir

DEATHS. Sad Case of Drowning - A son of Mr. Jonathan Weir, proprietor of the machine works, Moncton, while bathing on Saturday in a stream or creek which runs through the marsh near the bridge over the Petitcodiac River, got into a hole containing about twelve feet of water, and being beyond his depth and unable to swim, was drowned before assistance could reach him. Dr. Rose was quickly brought to the rescue, but life was found to be extinct. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved family. The lad was aged nine years, and was named James.
