GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN John Park Weir
John P. Weir is Borne to Rest by Comrades in Great War. Veterans of the Great War and friends joined with relatives yesterday in paying a final tribute to the memory of the late Mr. John Park Weir, of this city, who passed away suddenly on Tuesday last at Amherst, N.S. The funeral service was held at the home of his son, Mr. Robert Weir, 147 Union Street, yesterday afternoon at two o'clock and was conducted by Rev. J.A. Ramsay, minister of St. John's United Church. Members of the church choir were present and rendered in feeling voice the hymns, "Bringing in the Sheaves" and "Throw Out the Life Line". The cortege left the house at 2:30 for Elmwood cemetery where interment was made in the family plot. Rev. Mr. Ramsay also officiating at the committal service. The pallbearers were all former overseas comrades of deceased and included Messrs. Harold Steeves, Harry McIntyre, Chester Stokes, G. Dennie Ramsey, Edward P. MacGowan and Arthur Ferguson.
