GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Agnes Park (Mrs. Jonathan Weir)

Mrs. Jonathan Weir. Death claimed one of Moncton's oldest and most respected citizens about 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, when there passed away, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Norman Sinclair, Cameron street, Mrs. Jonathan Weir, in the 82nd year of her age. Mrs. Weir, while she had been in failing health for some two months past, was confined to her bed for only about two weeks. Deceased was born in Pictou Co., Nova Scotia, where she was married. Her husband predeceased her by some 19 years. She came to Moncton fifty-five years ago, and has remained one of the most respected residents of the city ever since. A woman of sterling qualities, she won the confidence and esteem of all who knew her, and her passing will be learned with regret especially by the older residents of the city. Mrs. Weir was a devout Presbyterian and one of the oldest members of St. John's Presbyterian church, of which her husband was an elder for many years prior to his death. She is survived by one son and five daughters. Mrs. James A. Bayne, Mrs. Norman Sinclair, Mrs. William Crockett, Miss Agnes Weir, of Moncton, and Mrs. Harold B. Goodrich, of Mexico, are the daughters. Mr. John P. Weir, of this city is the only son. Mrs. Weir was the last of her family. No brothers or sisters survive her. Funeral on Thursday, hour to be announced later.
