GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

John Charles Weir

Suddenly on October 10, 1979 at his residence, 1001-60 Chesterfield St., Winnipeg.  Born October 5, 1913 in Winnipeg, Man. He served overseas for five years with the Canadian Army. For 30 years he worked for the Stores Dept., C.P.R., Weston Shops taking an early retirement due to ill health. He was a member of The Royal Canadian legion, No. 97. Survived by his wife Marguerite; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Wasacase, Kenora, Ont., Mrs. Lauder Smith (Shelly), Newburg, Ontario, and Mrs. Kirk Laznick (Cathie) of Iroquois Falls, Ontario; two sons, Jack and wife Rooney, and Kirk both of Winnipeg; 10 grandchildren and one sister Mrs. George Harrison (Mal) of Winnipeg. Predeceased by four brothers and one sister. The wish of the deceased was that his body be donated to medical research. A memorial service will be held on Saturday 3:00 p.m., St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Bannerman and Charles. Conducted by Rev. J.D. Marnoch.
