Merlin.  He married (1) Catherine FRASER #3756, 16-Apr-1863.[2]  He married (2) Mary Amelia Langille #4581, 02-Feb-1883, in (at) The Manse, Earltown,[3] b. 03-Aug-1859, NS,1  d. 1941,[4] buried: Bellevue Cemetery, River John, NS.4   Allen died 1914,4  buried: Bellevue Cemetery, River John, NS.  15 Dec 1862.  The Eastern Chronicle Thursday March 8, 1883  page 3 records the Marriage of Allen and Mary as follows: "Married - Wier - Langille - At the Manse, Earltown, on Feb 28th, by the Rev. D. McKenzie, Mr. Allan Weir, to Miss Mary Amelia Langill, Both of River John.  (Researchers note: The name is WIER at start of article but it changes to WEIR in the middle.  Source: PANS MFM 4360).  The 1901 Census for Pictou County has Mary's names as Margaret

12.  William WEIR #11, b. 1841, Albion Mines, Pictou Co., NS.[12]  He married Mary GRAY #529, 21-Sep-1886, in Colchester Co., NS,[13] b. 1862, Hopewell,[14] (daughter of John Gray #4657 and Margaret #4658) d. 1935.4   William died 19-May-1900, Welsford, Pictou Co., Nova Scotia.[15]  William's residence at the time of his marriage to Mary was in Rhode Island, USA.  Mary's birth date is in question.  According to her headstone,  she was born 1847, according to the Pictou Co. Marriage records for her  marriage to William, she was born in 1862, and according to the Colchester Co., marriage records, she was born in 1854.

                             iv      Hugh Wyndham WEIR #4967, b. 1886,12  d. before 1888.12   A grave stone for Hugh Wyndham was in the cold storage area of the cellar at Weir's where it was relegated due to misspelling of his name.  Children for three generations have played there, if you want stimulation for young minds you can't beat the stories of the games centered around the gravestone. This anecdote was from research notes of Marjorie Taylor.

Weir, esq. Uncle of the bride, Waterloo street, October 25th by the Rev. J. Millen Robertson, B.A., Norman A. Rae to Bessie M. daughter of the late Robert Weir, both of Moncton."

Co.) on Christmas Day,  1871 was accidentally shot in the forehead by a ball from a pistol in the hand of a person named Leeman.  The latter lost two of his fingers and the former had a very narrow escape, the ball grazing the upper part of his head."  The Chignecto Post 11 October 1883 records the marriage of John and Amanda as follows: "At the residence of the bride's Father, Hillsborough, Albert County, Rev. J.C. Bleakney of the 3rd inst, Mr. John P. Weir of Moncton to Amanda Milton."  The Daily Times, Moncton, NB, Saturday, 13 October 1883 recorded the following: "PRESENTATION - Some of the young friends of Mr. John P. Weir, who recently took unto himself a better half, called at his house a night or two ago and presented him with a very handsome walnut clock, ordered from Mr. L.T. Joudry's.  Mr. Weir was completely taken by surprise."
