       "Wyndam Ballentyne Scores Again

Wyndam Ballentyne of Woodburn, despite the fact that he met with a severe loss at the Maritime Winter Fair, he still scored in the prize ring.  His loss was through the death of a pure bred ram that was at the head of his pure bred exhibit.  He had imported a ram from Ontario last year at a cost of $95 and had won with it at the Fall Fairs.  En route to the Winter Fair it took sick and died.  Mr. Ballentyne wired at once to Ontario for another to keep up his flock standard.  While this practically put him out of the pure bred class, he won several firsts for ewes and lambs.

But it was in the class of market lambs that Mr. Ballentyne made the greatest wins.  He had a pen of fifteen.  They had previously won 1st at Halifax, 1st and 2nd at Pictou, 1st and 2nd at Antigonish along with a special prize offered by Mr. Duff, M.P. and another special prize offered by A.M. Bell and Company of Halifax.  At the Maritime Winter Fair, Amherst, this week in a class of thirteen pens from different points in the Maritimes, Mr. Ballentyne won first with these lambs.  Experts at the Fair were particularly interested in this pen and urged Mr. Ballentyne to send them to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto, but he feels that is rather beyond his reach.  Further, in a slaughter contest in which three of his lambs were dressed, in an exhibit of 21 carcasses, the lambs from Mr. Ballentyne's flock won 2nd, 3rd and 5th.  For his success Mr. Ballentyne is entitled to every congratulation.  He has shown what can be done.  Hats off to him."
