ARMSTONG, Gerald Andrew - Peacefully entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, March 20, 2026, while holding hands with his beloved wife of 69 years, Sophia (Dzurka).
Amazing father and "Mr. Fix-it" of Jerry (Susan), Pamela Sementilli (Massimo), and Craig and Dale Jonsson.
Gerald was the proudest grandpa to Massimo II and Carl.
Eldest child of the late Robert and Beulah Armstrong (Cook). Brother to Allan (Barb), late Evelyn, late Audrey (Jim Sovie), late Ken (Janet), Ruth Anne Roe (Ross), Grant (Pat) Darwin, (Angela) and Dale.
Son-in-law of the late John and Sophia Dzurka (Furta). Brother-in-law to the late Marvin (Helen), late Jerry and Verna, late Mike (Hazel), late Mary Jonsson (Ron), and Sam (Vi) Dzurka.
Gerald is survived by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy. Retired from GM Transmission, Gosfield North Volunteer Fire Department. Gerald was also a long-time member of the Essex Gospel Community Church and enjoyed his passion of farming.

Arrangements entrusted to Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave. East, Essex (519-776-4233). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Essex Gospel Community Church Thursday, March 26, 2026 10 a.m. Visitation until the time of Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Country Meadows Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers any donations made to the Essex Food Bank and Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated by the family. (The Windsor Star 24 Mar 2026)
