MacMILLAN, Lorne Alexander - The death of Lorne Alexander MacMillan, age 58, of Sardis, B.C. occurred suddenly at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Glen Harron of Alex, Alberta, on September 21st, 1981. Lorne was born January 7th, 1923, at Floral, Sask. He was educated at Floral and Saskatoon. He worked in Saskatoon until he joined the navy in 1941. During his stay in Halifax, he met and married Margaret Peat, also in the navy. Besides his wife, Margaret, he will be sadly missed by two daughters, Debra (Don) McKinnon, St. Bruno, Quebec, and Nancy (Glen) Harron, Alex, Alberta, three sons, Brian (Kelly) of Langley, B.C., Ronald (Audrey) of Chilliwack, B.C., and Bill (Patricia) of Trail, B.C., and five grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Evans, Mrs. Elsie (Henry) Klassen, Mrs. Doris (Bert) Pope, Miss Gertrude MacMillan, all of Saskatoon, and Mrs. Marjorie (Stan) Olson of Mississauga, Ont. He was predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. MacMillan, and a brother, Russell. Cremation. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations, if desired, may be made to: B.C., Yukon C.N.I.B. Lorne's wife, Bessie Margaret MacMillan (née Peat), served as a Petty Officer Sick Berth Attendant in the WRCNS during the Second World War.
