In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
O'CONNELL, David Terrence (Terry) - The last son of Dr John O'Connell and Ethel Helena (Lyons) O'Connell, Terry died peacefully at Garden Terrace in Kanata, Ontario, age 80. Dementia never stole his memory of family, and he dearly missed his brothers Brian, Maurice, Michael, Kevin and Sean -- all gone too early; a sister Maureen died in infancy. Often called 'larger than life', Terry shared his enthusiasm for cooking, languages, music, travel and shaggy-dog jokes with everyone who knew him. A lawyer by trade, he served as Lieutenant in the Royal Canadian Navy's UNTD, 1960-1964, and loved the sea. Fondly remembered by his children Dan (Katherine) of Sudbury and Erin (Pierre) of Montreal, grandchildren Justin, Kendra and Andrew, and ex-wife Avia. A family memorial will be held in the future.
