In memory of those who have Crossed the Bar
TAYLOR, David Douglas - It is with a heavy heart that I must announce the passing of my dear husband, David Douglas Taylor on May 10th 2018. David was born in Toronto in 1946. He joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1963 and was stationed in Halifax which is where we met in 1965. We went our own way when he got out of the Navy and in 1978 we met up again and our love flourished. David fought an eight-year battle with cancer. Braver than most he never let it get him even to his last day. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Jackie Taylor. His son Michael (Adria Pyke) and their children Kaylee and David. His son David Burke (Pam Gauthier) and his sons Connor and Brady Burke. His daughter Nikki Burke (Steven Pellerin) and her children, Ty Keifer Ogletree and Ninelle Duchesne. His son Jason Burke and his children Eryn and Robbie. David loved his grandchildren dearly. His face would light up when they came to visit. He especially loved Sunday dinner when everyone gathered in the kitchen and dining room to eat a great meal that he often cooked on the barbeque. He was an outdoorsman and loved to fish and hunt. He loved the time he spent in his man cave having a few drinks with his family and friends and at the end of the day sitting on the dock and having a drink and a good cigar at dusk. I miss him so much. Rest in peace my sweet man. Donations can be made in his name to the Chemo Unit of the North Bay Regional Health Center. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
