Miller ERA 3rd. Class
Fred (Dusty) Miller was born in Toronto in 1914. Dorothy met Fred when
he was in the navy, instructing at Royal Roads. Dorothy was a secretary
at the CPR in Calgary and they had planned to be married in the Spring
of 1944. Fred was put in charge of a draft to the east coast in January,
1944. He got off the train in Calgary and he and Dorothy were married
and he rejoined the draft to the east coast. Dorothy's maiden name is
Bingham. They have one son, Gregory, married to Marge, and three grandchildren,
Julie, Amy and Matthew. Fred was a planner with A. V Roe. He then went
into business for himself as Miller, Wood and Metal Products in Weston,
Ontario. His hobby was wood-working and he made Dorothy a beautiful cherrywood
Grand-daughter clock which she cherishes. Fred retired to their property
on Otter Lake, just south of Parry Sound in 1971, and Dorothy continues
to live there. Fred passed away April 9, 1988.
