Stanley
Zatylny - Coder
Stanley Zatylny was born on December 20, 1925, in Welland Ontario. He
graduated from high school in Business Administration. Stanley married
Indra Walker from Montreal in 1945. They have three children, Stanley
Junior, Gordon and Teresa Jane. All are married and the Zatylny's have
five grandchildren between the ages of 4 to 21. Upon leaving High School
in June 1939, Stanley joined Henry Birks & Sons as an apprentice silversmith.
With the exception of his years in the navy from December 1941 until October
1945, he continued his employment with Birks, until his retirement in
December 1987, as Production Manager of silverware products. Stanley took
his navy basic training in Montreal and Halifax. In April 1942 he was
assigned to the H.M.C.S. Kamloops and in September 1942 through to December
1942 took the decoders course at Ste. Hyacinthe. Between Jan. 1943 to
June 1944 he served aboard the H.M.C.S. Red Deer and in July 1944 joined
the H.M.C.S. Nene until December 1944. From March 1945 to August 1945
he was with the H.M.C.S. MicMac. Stanley was discharged from the navy
in October 1945. He and Indra live in Verdun, Quebec.
