RICHARDS, Harold Roy - 76, Chipstone Close, Halifax, died February 18, 1999, in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Frederick and Gertrude ( McGraw ) Richards. He was a veteran of the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Navy. He retired after 35 years from HMC Dockyard as an electrical technician. He was a member of Local 3164 IBEW. Surviving are his wife, the former Leona Catherine Laphen; daughters, Sandie (Fox), Halifax; Joanne (Ballam), Shubenacadie; Christine (Dowling), Gays River Road; sons, Kenny, Oakville, Ont.; Mike, Bedford; Jimmy, Paradise, Annapolis Co.; Harold, Sackville; Tony, Beaver Bank; sisters, Doris Brown, Ontario; Helen Whittier, Black Point; Margaret Cameron, Halifax; Verna Beverly, Winnipeg; Shirley Smith, Shediac, N.B.; Joan Chapman, Marlene MacDonald, Halifax; brothers, Gerald, Ottawa; Bob, Halifax; Jack, Fall River; 19 grandchildren. He was predeceased by infant son, Joseph; sister, Mona Calbury; brother, Freddie. There will be no visitation. Funeral 9 a.m. Monday in St. Theresa's Church, North Street, Halifax, Rev.
