FRALIC, Owen William, MM, V25533, RCNVR, MPK - 07 Sep 1942, HMCS RACCOON - son of Frank Fralic, and of Ida May Fralic, of Liverpool, NS.

 

Motor Mechanic Fralic died when his ship, HMCS RACCOON, which was on convoy escort in the St. Lawrence River off the Gaspé Peninsula, was hit and sunk by two torpedoes from U165. All 37 hands were lost.

 

Owen married Edith Freeman 07 Aug 1930 at Mahone Bay, NS.  They divorced at some point before he joined the RCNVR.
