Born: 29 Aug 1930

 

Died: 15 Aug 2014, White Rock, British Columbia

 

BULL, Garnet Maurice (Garnie) - CD with 3 Bars - QEll Silver Jubilee Medal - The Navy League of Canada Service Medal. Garnie passed away on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC after being in care since early August. The last two years had been difficult for him on the health front, but he never lost his sense of humour. His unbroken service chain as a Sea Cadet, member of the RCN, Sea Cadet/CIL Officer and active member of The Navy League of Canada spanned over 70 YEARS! His service was recognized in 1999 when he was named The (Nat'l) Navy League of Canada Member of the Year! He is survived by his loving, dedicated wife, Wilhelmina (Wilma) Vander Burgh, son James Bull (Sandy), stepdaughter Susan Brillon, 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and numerous other family & friends. Garnie is predeceased by his first wife Martha Wilhelmina Bull and parents, Martin & Elsie Bull and all of his beloved siblings. Loved greatly, his presence & leadership will be deeply missed. Garnie was a father figure to many and his legacy of community service will endure. Celebration of Life: Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2pm. RCSCC Fraser-Annacis Training Quarters, 555 Derwent Way, Delta BC.
