John J. Moriarty

 

Died: 10 Dec 1973, Halifax, Nova Scotia

 

MORIARTY, John J. - 64, of 810 Bridges street, died Monday at his home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Patrick and Anne (Gallivan) Moriarty. He was a 30-year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Scotia Branch, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus and the Charitable Irish Society. During the Second World War he served on HMCS Restigouche. Surviving are his wife, the former Eileen Meagher; two sons, Patrick, Dartmouth; Kevin, London, England; a daughter, Eleanor, at home and two grandchildren. The body is at Cruikshank's Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Canadian Martyrs church, Rev. A. Pianfetta will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
