Died: 05 Jul 2011, Burlington, Ontario

 

INGRAM, Robert James (Bob) - WWII Veteran. Passed away peacefully at his home in Burlington, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Hovey) for 68 years. Loving father of Sheryn Jefferies (John) of Orillia and Julie Brethour (Rick) of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of David (Andrea), Kristin (Patrick), Kathryn, Amy (Darrin), Stephanie and Shauna and Great-Grandpa of Bella, Tegan, Ross and Aria. Dear brother of Shirley Murphy of Richmond Hill. Bob joined the Canadian Navy at a young age and became a Navigating Officer on the West York. He became Canadian General Manager of National Association of Credit Unions. He traveled all over the world with the development work of the Credit Unions and Co-operatives. He continued with his overseas development projects after his retirement. He was also very involved in his Burlington community with the Probus Club, member of Burlington Curling Club and Burlington Golf and Country Club, volunteering with Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital to name a few. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m., followed by a reception. If desired, donations to a charity of your choice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
