CRAWFORD, Bruce Allan - (Retired Chief York Regional Police Service) After a brief but courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre - K Wing in his 86th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Violet Emma. Loving father of Christian Bruce (Fran Morgan), Allan and Susan. Dear Papa of Lindsay (Dave) Bilby, Ashley, Bruce, Derek and proud great-grandfather of Mason and Ella. Brother-in-law of Rose Crawford. A heartfelt thank you to the palliative care team of K1E for their dedication and care of our father. Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (north of Lawrence Avenue West), Weston on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 11-12 noon at St. Timothy North Toronto Anglican Church, 100 Old Orchard Grove, with the service commencing at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Prospect Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. (Toronto Star 22 Jun 2010)
