MEMNOOK, Ned William Martin, LS, 63119, RCN / C.A.F. died - 15 Mar 1973, HMCS TERRA NOVA - Born 19 Oct 1945, Saddle Lake, AB, son of Olive William and Rita (nee Halfe) of Hamlin, AB. Brother of Simon, Shirley and Richard. Husband of Frances (née Lucas) Memnook and father of Carolyn Memnook, Linda and Conrad Lucas of Sooke, BC.

 

During WESTPLOY 1973, while in Singapore, a number of the ship's crew became ill - LS Memnook was the only one who succumbed to the illness.

 

Awards and Decorations:  Special Service Medal and Peace Clasp, Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, Internal Commission of Control and Supervision Service Medal (Vietnam)
