Herbert William Hollingworth **

Died: 04 Aug 1999

 

LCdr Herbert Hollingworth served in the RCNVR during WW2 and was transferred to the RCN(R) in 1946. During the 1950s he served as an instructor at HMCS STADACONA in Halifax during the summer training periods.

HMCS ROYAL ROADS - Appointed to Royal Roads 02 Jan 1942 as a Prob SLt, RCNVR (Navy List Jan 1942)

HMCS GASPE - Appointed to Gaspe 05 May 1942 as a SLt, RCNVR (seniority 22 Dec 1941) (Navy List Sep 1942). Appointed Lt, RCNVR (seniority 22 Dec 1942) (Navy List Mar 1943)

HMCS MONTREAL - Appointed to Montreal 20 Oct 1943 as a Lt, RCNVR (Navy List Oct 1943). Seniority backdated to 22 Dec 1941 (Navy List Jul 1944)

HMCS STADACONA (Depot Ship Halifax)  - Appointed to (borne on the books of) Stadacona For Disposal or Under Training 05 Mar 1945 for "Short T Course" as a Lt, RCNVR (Navy List Mar 1945)

* Retired List - as a Lt, RCN(R) (seniority 22 Dec 1941) (Navy List Apr 1946).  Retired List as a Lt (tas) (t), RCN(R) (Navy List Jul 1949)

HMCS STADACONA - Served in Stadacona on the Training staff (East Coast) of the University Naval Training Division (UNTD) in 1954 (The Nauticapedia)

HMCS YORK (Retired List) - as a LCdr, RCN(R) (seniority 22 Dec 1949). Last noted in the Navy List for Jan 1960 on the retired list as a LCdr, RCN(R)

 

** The Navy Lists list LCdr Hollingworth as Hollingsworth from the first noted entry in Jul 1941 until Jul 1952 when spelling was corrected to Hollingworth
