Gerald B. (Ben) Ensor

 

Died: 30 Dec 2002, Saint John, New Brunswick

 

ENSOR, Gerald B. (Ben) - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on Monday, December 30th, 2002, Gerald B. (Ben) Ensor of Saint John West, husband of Barbara (McDaid) Ensor. Born in Saint John, the son of the late Albert Ensor and the late Zita (Dee) Shannon Ensor Hatfield. He had attended St. Vincent's School, was active in sports and loved to speed skate. A Veteran of the Second World War having served as an Ordinary Seaman with the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the HMCS Longueil. He was a member of The Main Brace Naval Vets also The Crows Nest, NFLD. He was a long time employee of the DVA Hospital having been an admissions officer. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Surviving in addition to his wife Barbara is his daughter; Mary Jane and her husband Grant Murphy of Saint John, also 3 grandsons; Brian, Eric and David, a special cousin Bette Mackin, several other cousins, nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law. He was predeceased by his only son Mark. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701). A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church 12 noon on Thursday, January 2, 2003. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Donations to a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family. (The Telegraph-Journal 02 Jan 2003)
