BALDWIN, William George - age 80, of L’Ardoise, formerly of Ontario, passed away in his home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Born on November 14, 1936, in North York, Ont., to the late Bill Sommers and Lillian Florence (McConnell) Baldwin. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Diean Baldwin; sister, June Eleanor Tracey; son, Richard Pâté (Paula); daughters, Debra Phillips, Barbara Illes (Kerry); nephew, Michael Tracy (Minister); grandchildren, Tracy (Steve), Steven, Nicole (Steve), Joshua, Nicholas; greatgrandchildren, Cenar, Atlanta, Dawson, Austin, Peiton, Stephen Jr., Alexandra, Jordan, Gabriella, and Hayden; grand nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Jennifer, Alexander. He was predeceased by his nephew, Paul Tracey; brother-in-law, Donald Tracey. Bill was in the Navy Services for 20 years during the Cold War. From there he worked for Motorola as a Service Technician; he had his own telephone business and then went to TransCanada for 20 years as Technician. Upon his retirement, he moved to Cape Breton and worked at Wal-Mart in Port Hawkesbury for 10 years. His work covered many fields. Visitation will take place on Monday in Bill’s home at 79 Chapel Cove Rd., L’Ardoise, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in Bill’s home at 79 Chapel Cove Rd., L’Ardoise, on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with his nephew, Minister Michael Tracey, officiating. Burial will take place in Ontario at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
