HUNTER, Edward Nelson (Ted) - passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at the CKHA-Chatham Campus in his 95th year. He was born on July 18, 1925 in Brampton, ON, and was the son of the late Douglas and Florence (nee Jackson) Hunter. Beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Mullaly) Hunter (1998). Sadly missed by his step-son, Frederic “Rick” (Doris) Matthews of Whistler, British Columbia. Loving brother of James Hunter of Toronto. Dear uncle of Judith (Mark) Templeton, Don Hunter, Jennifer (Doug) Wilson, Doug (Marianne Wouters) Hunter, Barbara Cormack (Chris Begg), Catherine Kudla (the late Peter, 2019), David (Joanne) Hunter, Jane (Patrick) Clifford and Susan (H.R.) Goss. Fondly remembered by many great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews. Special friend of Maxine Legate of Chatham. Remembered by his foster daughters, Mary Ann Moody and Helen Roberts. Predeceased by a step-son, David Matthews (1996) and his brothers, Robert (2013) and Jackson (1962). Ted was a member of the Chatham Goodfellows, the Chatham Kiwanis Club and the London Masons. He loved to travel, fish and spend time on his boat and in his garden. Most of all "family" was very important to Ted. He was a role model for all of us. His generosity was evident in the many things he volunteered for in his community. Ted worked as a manager in the grain industry and was a dedicated employee as he was dedicated in life to whatever he endeavoured. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Kendrick Funeral Home- Chatham Celebration Centre, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, ON. (519) 352-2390. Cremation has taken place, with a private family service. Donations in memory of Ted to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
