TANNER, Gerald Blaine (Gerry) - Age 78, of Halifax, died November 16, 2020, in Hospice Halifax. Born in Portage la Prairie, Man., he was a son of the late Mabel (Grantham) Tanner. He is survived by wife, Rosanne (Wood) Tanner; brother, Earl Tanner; son, Daniel (Dawn Barton) Wood; daughters, Leah Tanner and Kristy (Mike) Sanders; grandchildren, Sean Tanner, Emma Sanders, Jack Sanders, and Chelsea Barton; and great-grandchildren, Ashton Dorey and Lincoln Dorey. He was predeceased by brother, Orval Tanner; sister, Lorraine Dyck; and grandson, Noah Tanner. Cremation has taken place. As he desired, his ashes will be scattered in private at sea, where he served more than 35 years in the Canadian Armed Forces (Petty Officer First Class). Donations in his memory may be made to any charity, but perhaps consider Hospice Halifax.
